The hospital hallway was filled with quiet footsteps and low voices. Sophia stepped out, her smile soft and peaceful after seeing their child on the screen. Outside, leaning against the car, stood Mirshad — hoodie half-zipped, holding a cold mango juice in one hand and a paper bag of roasted peanuts in the other. She raised an eyebrow. He lifted both hands with a crooked smile.
"Reward for the strongest woman I know."
She giggled, walking toward him. "Are we going home?"
He looked into her eyes for a second too long.
"Not yet. There's somewhere I want to take you… Just us."
They drove without guards. No security. No Reapers. Just him. Just her. And the hum of the road beneath the tires as the sun began to fall. The roads twisted through lush greenery, quiet temples, and sleepy villages. Coconut trees bowed as if whispering blessings. She rolled the window down. The wind tangled her hair.
"You sure we're not getting kidnapped?" she teased.
"If we are, it better be by love," he said with a grin.
Her head rested gently on his shoulder. He didn't move. He didn't speak. Because this — this moment — didn't need words.
The car stopped at a quiet, cliffside road. Below them — the Arabian Sea roared and whispered in the same breath. They stepped out. No crowd. No flashing lights. Only crashing waves and a golden sky bleeding into the ocean. Sophia's eyes widened. "This place…"
"I came here once," he said, "when I was seventeen. To clear my head. To figure out who I was."
He looked at her now.
"Now I know. I'm yours."
They sat at the edge of the cliff. Feet dangling over the side. Her hands rested on her belly. His arms around her shoulders. The sky slowly surrendered to dusk.
"You know why I brought you here?" he asked.
She shook her head.
"Because this is where I decided… I don't want to protect the world forever. I want to live in it. With you. With them." His hand gently covered her belly.
Tears welled in her eyes — not from fear, but from something deeper. Something safe.
"And I want to be the one who protects you," she whispered. "Not from war… but from forgetting who you are without it."
They lay on the grass just behind the cliff. The stars began to rise. One by one. Quiet. Infinite. No swords. No glowing eyes. No power. Just Mirshad. Just Sophia.
She asked softly, "Can we stay here a little longer?"
He smiled without opening his eyes. "Let's stay until the world remembers it doesn't own us."
And under that ancient sky — the god forgot the weight of his name. And the man remembered… love.
