Chapter 229 - The Room That Touched Death

The meeting chamber was filled with the strongest forces in the world— The Tribunal. The Dons. The warlords. The forgotten legends. And standing at the center, Mirshad. Calm. Unshaken. Watching.

Until—

A tremble. A shiver ran through his spine. His fingers clenched. Rayyan noticed first. "Brother?" Mirshad's breath caught. His body jerked. Eyes widened. And then—he screamed. A scream that shattered the silence like thunder splitting the sky. His knees hit the floor. Hands gripping his chest. Rayyan rushed to him. "Brother! What's happening?" But Mirshad didn't hear. He was burning. From inside. His veins glowing faint blue, turning golden.

One of the Tribunal elders stood in horror. "It's him… He's here." Panic spread across the room. The Dons stepped back. Another voice trembled, "Protect the Source! Protect him!" The magicians summoned light. The guards raised barriers. Nothing worked.

Then… silence.

The room drowned in darkness. A void deeper than night. The lights vanished. Even breathing was stolen. Only one sound remained. Mirshad's scream. And from the black… He arrived. The Soul Slayer. Not alone. Shadows moved behind him—souls of those he devoured. Now his protectors. His body—smoke and shadow. His presence—death in motion. He walked slowly. Each step made the floor decay into ash. He touched the wall. It turned to dust. No words from his mouth— but all heard him in their minds. "Thank you… for inviting the one I've hunted for eternity." He stepped toward Mirshad. Still screaming. Still burning. The Soul Slayer touched his chest— Mirshad's eyes rolled back. "I have waited millions of years for this moment," he whispered. He turned to the rest— Extended his hands— Tried to absorb their souls.

Nothing came out.

His hands shook. He tried harder. Still nothing. His rage grew. He stormed the chamber, trying to drain any soul. But none responded. Then—he turned back. Focused on Mirshad. He raised his hand. From a few feet away—he tried to pull Mirshad's soul. Mirshad screamed louder. And the universe… broke. Oceans raged. Skies cracked. Stars trembled. Every corner of existence heard that scream. Not just Earth—every universe, every realm.

And then.

Mirshad's body began to glow. White. Gold. Then cosmic. A voice rose from his chest— A voice that wasn't mortal.

"STOP."

The Soul Slayer pushed harder. But Mirshad opened his eyes— and the stars lived inside them. He rose into the air. Every step shook creation. The wind didn't blow—it bowed. He looked at the Soul Slayer. And moved. But before he could reach— The Soul Slayer vanished. Not escaped— Fled. The room froze. Mirshad descended slowly. His light faded. He looked at everyone. Placed a hand on Rayyan's shoulder—And collapsed. Unconscious. The silence broke. Screams followed. Not of chaos. But of realization. They had seen the end. And for the first time in all creation— Death ran from someone else.
