Complementing the sights was calming birdsong, although no birds could be seen. The temperature was surprisingly nice, both in the shade and in the sun.
Unfortunately for me, I was pulled out of my musings by a rather intrusive notification.

As one could imagine, I was quite miffed at this. Sure, it's to be expected and nothing comes free and all, but, like, more warning next time?
Regardless of what I thought, I needed money. Before money, however, comes safety.
One of the best ways to insure one's safety is to be in a separate space. Luckily for me, I had a favor I could call in. (Def not plot armor).
A few years back, I was an intern for a space mage specializing in separate spaces. He got called to reinforce a bridge after a river barge slammed into a pillar. The thing was, we had just arrived at an important meeting where I was supposed to observe. Since he couldn't attend the meeting, I had to do so in his place.
Long story short, I somehow was so stubborn that the other company gave up on negotiations and just right away signed the contract there and then.
So, yeah. I basically got a favor from that space mage.

After drafting up a contract with him, he agreed to envelop my island with a spacial cloak. You could still enter it from the outside, it just seemed like empty space. Don't ask me how that works. I don't know.
In return, he also agreed to sign an NDA to keep the whole Sky thing secret.

Now that my immediate safety needs are met, I could then work on money.
To get money, I unfortunately could not just go accept a gig and earn some quick cash. Nope.
I needed to get that all important IP. Again, there was just one issue. I had no way to earn said IP. Because of this, I decided to focus on a different objective.
