Chapter 577: Aren't You the Biggest Trouble Here?

Still unsure whether Steven was just messing with her, Lin Yuhsia failed to notice his gaze briefly drifting somewhere… questionable. Otherwise, given her past experiences of being toyed with by him, she would've definitely guessed what he was thinking.

By sheer coincidence, a potential conflict was avoided.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Lin Yuhsia finally let out a quiet sigh and accepted her unavoidable fate.

Right now, she had no real reason to refuse. If she let Steven wander around on his own, who knew what kind of trouble he'd stir up? Compared to that, it was honestly better to keep him within sight—even if acting as his guide was a bit frustrating.

"At least this way… I won't have to worry about him causing chaos the moment I look away…"

Straightening herself, she adopted the same refined, noble demeanor she had when Steven first met her—like a proper young lady from a wealthy family. With a graceful nod, she spoke in a calm, professional tone.

"So, Mr. Steven, which part of Lungmen interests you? I'll need to know your preferences before I can choose a suitable destination."

Even though she would've loved nothing more than to pack him up and throw him out of Lungmen, reality was far less accommodating.

"Hm… honestly, we don't need to rush that. I actually prefer how we interacted before. It felt more natural. This version of you is kinda boring."

Steven frowned slightly, clearly uncomfortable with her overly formal attitude.

If things were going to be this stiff, why even bother dragging her along? He could've just hired some real guide. What he wanted was someone he could banter with—someone he could tease.

"…You really have high standards, don't you? I'm just a guide, what kind of performance are you expecting from me?"

Lin Yuhsia's lips twitched as she shot him a glare.

So being polite wasn't good enough now?

"Boring," huh? More like he just couldn't mess with her properly.

"Yeah, yeah—that's the look. We're basically friends at this point, right? Why act so distant? Just relax and be yourself."

Steven's face lit up instead, nodding enthusiastically as if encouraging her.

To Lin Yuhsia, though, that only made things worse.

The more harmless he acted, the more suspicious he became.

She had spent years surviving in the slums—there was no way she'd believe this guy was being sincere. If she really "let herself go," he'd probably turn it around and show her what real chaos looked like.

Deciding not to engage any further, she simply lowered her head and went silent.

If he didn't want to say anything, fine. Standing here all day doing nothing still counted as completing her assignment.

"Sigh… that's not very good of you. Girls should be more like songbirds—talkative and lively. Especially since your voice sounds pretty nice. Why act like a mute?"

Steven took the initiative to keep talking. The quieter she got, the more he wanted to see her crack.

It felt oddly similar to teasing the girl sitting in front of you back in school.

"If you have a question, just ask. As for meaningless conversation… I have the right not to respond."

Forcing herself to stay calm, Lin Yuhsia put on another polite, mechanical smile and replied in an indifferent tone.

The more he tried to engage her, the more certain she was that he had ulterior motives.

As long as she didn't take the bait, there was nothing he could do.

"Hmm… fair enough. I guess I can't force you to change your personality. That'd be pretty inhumane."

Steven nodded thoughtfully, stroking his chin.

But his gaze had already drifted off into the distance—as if he'd just thought of something else.

"Well then, how about this? I'd like to visit the largest bank in Lungmen. Could I trouble you to guide me there? Oh, and if possible, maybe give me a rundown of the security setup inside too."

As he spoke, Steven casually pulled out his standard bandit-grade AK from his inventory, checking the magazine like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Lin Yuhsia's composure—only just restored—shattered instantly, like a stone tossed into still water. Her eyes widened, teeth clenching unconsciously.

What the hell was this guy doing? Not even pretending anymore?!

"And may I ask what exactly you plan to do in such a place, Mr. Steven? Lungmen's banks are hardly tourist attractions."

Forcing a stiff smile through gritted teeth, she turned toward him and asked slowly.

"That's none of your concern. I also have the right not to answer," Steven replied, mimicking her earlier tone as he slung the AK over his shoulder. "Just think of it as me withdrawing some cash… and maybe testing if real-life GTA is as fun as in the game."

His cryptic response only made things worse.

"As a guide, your job is just navigation. Maybe provide a few 'tools' when needed. Don't worry, I won't forget your share afterward."

Completely confident that no one in this world would recognize the true lethality of the weapon in his hands, Steven swaggered down the street like a textbook outlaw.

"You—!"

Lin Yuhsia's lips twitched violently, but no words came out.

She knew he was messing with her.

And yet… she had no way to stop him.

Putting everything else aside, she wasn't even sure she could defeat him in a fight.

After pointing at him with a trembling finger for a full thirty seconds, she finally deflated like a punctured balloon.

"…Fine. Let's stop joking, okay? Just tell me what you actually want, and we'll go back to how things were before."

Her tone returned to the familiar one from yesterday—resigned, but genuine.

In a sense, she had given up.

Trying to outplay this guy was a lost cause. He had no shame, no limits—how was she supposed to win?

Oddly enough, accepting that made her feel a lot lighter.

"Heh, so you saw through that? Guess my acting still needs work. Though to be fair, your 'robot mode' earlier almost fooled me too."

Steven grinned, lowering the AK and giving her an easy way out.

He wasn't actually trying to push her too far—just having a bit of fun. Crossing the line would only make things unpleasant, and even he didn't want to become that kind of person.

"But I wasn't kidding about the reward. Do your job well, and I won't treat you unfairly."

"As for now… I honestly don't know where I want to go. Everything seems interesting, but also kinda boring at the same time…"

He tilted his head, then suddenly brightened.

"How about this—you tell me instead. Has anything interesting been happening in Lungmen lately?"

He blinked at her expectantly.

Interesting things? I don't know about that—but the biggest problem is definitely you showing up.

That was what Lin Yuhsia wanted to say.

But considering how he might react, she swallowed it and instead dug through her memory for recent news.

"Well… if we exclude everything you've done, then the most notable thing recently would be about another wave of mafia members arriving from Siracusa."
