I stood frozen, my eyes fixed on the gruesome scene before me. The referee, a man with an unsettling grin, had just slaughtered a group of people with ease.
The air was thick with the stench of blood and death. I felt a wave of nausea wash over me, but I couldn't look away.
The referee, seemingly oblivious to the carnage he had created, continued to speak. "Oh, sorry about that. I forgot about you. Congratulations, everyone, on being chosen! I welcome you all to the God's Arena."
I exchanged confused glances with the others. What kind of twisted game was this?
The referee continued, "This is a trial, a test to see who's worthy of climbing the God's Tower. You can think of it as a tutorial or entrance exam."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as he whistled, and a massive orc emerged from the shadows. It was the same monster I had seen in my dreams. Fear gripped my heart, but I tried to push it aside.
The referee snapped his fingers, and a blue screen appeared before me. "This is your status window," he explained.
I stared at the screen, taking in the information. My name, Lucifer, was displayed prominently, along with my age, physical stats, and...a whopping 5 points in mana?
I felt a surge of pride, but it was quickly dampened by the realization that my other stats were abysmal.
The referee explained that we had to choose a class, and four cards appeared before me. Each card represented one of the four classes: Warrior, Mage, Archer, and Healer.
The referee also explained that for mage and healer they can only use basic type of spell "fireball" and "heal"
I hesitated, torn between choosing a Warrior or Mage class. But then I remembered the words of the mysterious man I had met in my dreams: "You were talented in magic, but you chose a Warrior class."
The a thought struck me if the arena,referee,
even the monster is same as his dream then the mysterious man should also be here.
Then I searched the crowd, desperate to find the man. And then, I saw him. He was standing alone, his eyes fixed on me. I felt a jolt of recognition, and my heart skipped a beat.
I chose the mage class, and the referee explained the rules. We had to kill the orcs, and the more we killed, the more rewards we'd get. The time limit was 15 minutes, and we'd get weapons based on our class.
As the referee disappeared, the orcs charged towards us. I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me, but the mysterious man walked calmly towards an orc and killed it with ease.
I remembered his advice: "An orc's head is its weak point.Then i thought "if i am a mage i can also cast magic" I tried to cast a fireball spell, but nothing happened. The referee laughed, saying I couldn't use magic until I finished this round.
I cursed under my breath, feeling frustrated.
But then. Everything stopped moving.
Everyone got freezed.And only possible conclusion i came to was that time stopped.
The status window poped up before me. A new talent had appeared: "The Blessings of Chronos."and also a skill called "appraisial."
Wait a minute chronos?,isn't he a god in greek mythology who has power to manipulate time.wait,does the sudden stopping of time and weird dreams have something related to chronus.
Then I suddenly heard a voice behind me, "Who are you?" I turned to see the mysterious man standing behind me, his eyes piercing.
Then an alert message came in status window,It said someone with same talent is found.Then the system gave me a message to use appraisial.
Then i too used it.
The man's status window appeared,showing me the man's stats. His name was Drake, and his stats were impressive.And he had the same talent as me, "The Blessings of Chronos," and in the acheivement section he had "Time Traveller."
I felt my mind reel as I stared at the screen. A time traveller? What did that even mean?
I turned to Drake, my eyes wide with wonder. "What...what is a time traveller?"
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that my life was about to change in ways I couldn't even imagine.
