Chapter 485 - Chapter 485: Xuanzi’s Plan to Steal

Chapter 485: Xuanzi's Plan to Steal

Xuanzi and the others had no intention of informing Mu En about their plan to steal the secrets of the God Ring Master cultivation method. They knew that Mu En, who always prioritized caution, would never agree. So they decided to keep him in the dark and only tell him after the deed was done.

Mu En, preoccupied with his own worries, failed to notice the unusual behavior of Xuanzi and the others. If he had known about their plan, he would have immediately stopped them from carrying out such a foolish act.

Unfortunately, there are no "what ifs" in life. Some things are simply destined to happen, no matter how much one tries to prevent them.

Nightfall came quickly.

At the level of a Title Douluo, one's body was already beginning to transcend normal human limits. Even going ten or fifteen days without sleep wouldn't result in exhaustion. However, Mu En was an exception his body was in a semi crippled state, meaning he didn't dare to push himself. He maintained a strict routine and always went to bed on time.

This habit provided the perfect opportunity for Xuanzi and the others to act.

In Xuanzi's room, several Title Douluo gathered. The weakest among them was at Rank 97. They had come well prepared, bringing with them the most valuable resources their respective clans and sects had to offer.

Among their arsenal was the pinnacle of their soul tool craftsmanship a special device capable of concealing both aura and presence, making even an Ultimate Douluo unable to detect them. Whether it could fool god tier powerhouses was unknown, as they had never tested it.

But White Cloud City was enormous. As long as they were careful, what were the chances of them being so unlucky as to run into a god level expert?

"Is everything ready?" Xuanzi, dressed in black and fully masked like a typical thief, asked. The other Title Douluo, dressed similarly, nodded.

"Everything is set."

"Good, then let's move out!"

At Xuanzi's command, the group opened the windows and leaped into the night, their figures vanishing into the darkness.

Their target: White Cloud Academy!

When they first arrived in White Cloud City, they had followed local customs and purchased smartphones. Modern smartphones had become commonplace, available to anyone with money, and their functionality had evolved far beyond their early models.

After getting their phones, Xuanzi carefully studied the user manual and successfully accessed the internet, where he found the information he needed including a detailed map of White Cloud City. With this, their plan was set.

If you're wondering why they could access such information so easily, the answer is simple: city maps weren't classified. Their access level allowed them to view these records freely, enabling them to strategize their heist.

White Cloud Academy wasn't far from their hotel. Dressed in black, Xuanzi and the others sprinted through the city, their figures flickering under the streetlights. Occasionally, pedestrians passed by, yet no one paid them any attention.

This was thanks to the soul tools they wore, which not only rendered them invisible but also suppressed their auras. If these devices were to be ranked, they would undoubtedly be classified as Grade 9 soul tools some of the finest creations of the Sun Moon Empire.

Before coming to White Cloud City, these people had already considered the possibility of being denied cooperation and failing to obtain the method to achieve godhood. But simply giving up was not an option. Naturally, the idea of stealing came to mind.

Had White Cloud City been weaker, they wouldn't have planned a heist they would have launched a direct raid instead. The world of soul masters was inherently dark and ruthless, a truth Shrek Academy had always embraced. The so called "honorable" soul masters were merely hiding their true nature behind a flimsy veil of morality.

Thus, the idea of theft or outright robbery didn't seem outrageous to them.

Under the cover of their stealth devices, Xuanzi and his group moved unnoticed. Although their cultivation levels weren't particularly outstanding in White Cloud City, they were still considered strong. Not everyone here was a Title Douluo, after all. The strongest soul master they encountered along the way had just barely reached the Title Douluo rank.

Before long, they arrived at the towering outer walls of White Cloud Academy.

The hundred meter high walls posed no obstacle to them. With a single leap, they soared over and landed silently inside the academy grounds.

Beneath them was a lush green lawn, surrounded by unknown fragrant flowers. Even at night, the entire academy was brightly illuminated, with streetlights casting a glow that made it seem like daytime.

Xuanzi and his team had already mapped out their route. Since it was nighttime, most students were either asleep or meditating. No one noticed the intruders. Everything was going too smoothly.

So smoothly, in fact, that Xuanzi couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. But he couldn't pinpoint what.

Still, they had already come this far. Since they had successfully infiltrated the academy, they weren't about to leave empty handed.

Suppressing their unease, they scanned their surroundings and quickly locked onto their target the library.

According to their research, the library contained exclusive texts unavailable to the outside world.

Without hesitation, Xuanzi and his team sprinted toward the towering structure. They occasionally avoided passing students and eventually reached their destination.

The library was an immense tower that seemed to pierce the sky, its layers stacked endlessly. The sheer size of its base alone was vast. According to their information, each floor contained books, with the most valuable texts located on the upper levels. Access was restricted by clearance levels.

Excitement surged through them as they flew upward, heading straight for the higher floors. Driven by greed, they failed to question something crucial why was such an important library so poorly guarded?

At that moment, in a surveillance control room filled with high tech instruments, a group of staff members was busy at work. The walls were lined with screens, each displaying live feeds from cameras positioned throughout White Cloud City.

One particular screen caught their attention.

Clear as day, Xuanzi and his team were visible on the display.

From the moment they left the hotel, the city's omnipresent surveillance system had tracked their every move.

And that was precisely why their journey had been so "smooth" because the city's security personnel, eager to rack up merit, had deliberately let them proceed.

If they had been stopped before stealing anything, the most they could be charged with was attempted theft a minor offense. But if they actually succeeded in stealing something, the situation would be completely different.

Letting them "succeed" ensured that their crime would be undeniable.

Bigger crime, bigger reward. Promotions and pay raises would be guaranteed.

And so, the city's security team simply sat back and enjoyed the show, watching the fools walk straight into the trap.
