Chapter 241 - 241. Water-skateing?

"Ambassador Llyr!" A few seconds after Teveli, the soldier with a worried look appeared at the door of the building with a cloak in his hand. "Thank the water spirit that you are okay." The man sighed as he hurried to the undersea-walker ex-foreign minister and handed him the garment, which Llyr immediately put on.

"No problem, I didn't cross the border." The undersea-walker looked to the side, as if he wanted to avoid the other's attention.

"Please forgive my inattention. I should have handed it to you when you arrived." The soldier bowed to Llyr, begging for forgiveness.

"You have nothing to apologize for. You were understandably busy." The undersea-walker ex-foreign minister closed his eyes for a moment.

"But..." The soldier started another objection, but when Llyr looked at him sullenly, he immediately stopped speaking.

"Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll move on." Llyr straightened out and was about to head further into the Warm Sea undersea-walker area when the soldier cleared his throat, drawing attention back to himself.

"Doesn't the ambassador want to use the Great Current with his guests?" The soldier asked cautiously, and the other undersea-walker looked at the Athamanas and their companions before sighing and nodding slowly.

"It would be wisest to use it." Llyr finally admitted.

"Shall we accompany you, sir?" The soldier straightened, but the Cold Sea ex-foreign minister just shook his head.

"You are needed here. I will lead them." He said with a confidence in his voice that was really surprising to the team.

"As you wish, Ambassador, sir. I wish you a pleasant journer!" He said goodbye before returning to his guard post under the arch.

"Come on." Llyr waved to the team, who immediately began to follow him. For a while, they continued on the path they had taken to the border in silence. Every member of the team was aware that even if they wanted to ask their undersea-walker, it would be better to do so when there was no one nearby to hear them.

"So..." Citar finally broke the silence. "Why did you get that cloak?" The boy asked, pointing at Llyr, whereupon the questioned scratched the back of his neck, grinning in pain.

"Well, as I said, when we came down. I can't just cross to the Warm Sea, I'll die as soon as I cross. The cloak is supposed to protect me from this fate. Usually the leadership provides these clothes when we're sent on a diplomatic mission, but as you know, I'm being quite wanted a bit now." He grimaced at the end of his talk, although the grimace was more grumpy than sad.

"Then it's lucky there was such a clothing at the border." Achilleus grinned, and Llyr nodded.

"Pitty, I wish I had seen how he reacted." Suk sighed sadly.

"I understand." Ajtony, who had just appeared, also nodded. However, the both of the two Zovárds only achieved getting hit in the back of the neck by the two Teikes standing next to them.

"Why now?" Suk grimaced, squeezing his neck.

"Zovárd." Teveli rolled his eyes.

"What is that?" Everyone's attention was distracted from the argument that was about to develop by the voice of Benkó, who stared upwards with wide eyes and pointed forward with one hand.

"The Great Current." Llyr smiled faintly when he himself saw the mass of water carrying the mass of sea animals and fish.

"Should we continue with that?" Citar asked amused and even opened his mouth.

"That's the easiest." Llyr shrugged. "Especially if you don't want to march for another two weeks." He added.

"I don't want to be the one to point it out, but..." Achilleus began. "How in Fene are we going to use that?" The Motumisz boy pointed up towards the current with a doubtful look on his face.

"Well, by going up to that rock there and sliding on it." Llyr explained, pointing to the right rock, as if he didn't understand what was unclear about this situation.

"We slide?" Rahul asked back and scratched his head. "What do you mean?" He blinked up at the current.

"Well... Um... You step on it and push yourself forward?" The ex-foreign minister tried to explain what was completely clear to him. "It's easier if I show you." He shook his head and hurried to the top of the rock, then stepped off it seemingly into nowhere.

To the team's greatest surprise, however, he didn't fall to the seabed as they had expected. He stood in the middle of the water as if he were standing on land, then pushed one foot forward a little and began to slide through the water, only to turn around and slide back towards the rock.

"Sort of like this." He said, squeezing his arms. "You can try how to do it down here. The Great Current only starts higher, if you swim up that far, the water will push you." He pointed above his head. The hegins first just looked at each other, then slowly they all nodded and one after the other started towards the undersea-walker ex-foreign minister.

Of course the hardest part of practicing this whole current journey for the hegins was to step off the rock. No matter how many people had already stood on seemingly nothing next to Llyr, it took a lot of willpower for everyone to step out into nothingness.

Then came the practice of sliding. This was also more or less successful. Although everyone started very slowly. Some tried to keep their balance with their arms outstretched at their sides, some swayed back and forth. Then there was Benkó. The Bokló heir grinned broadly after his first forward slide and after barely two minutes of sliding back and forth, he was moving on top of nothingness as if he were an undersea-walker himself and had always done this.

"How can you do it so easily, peeing boy?" Achilleus grumbled, since as for himself, even his knees were shaking, he was trying so hard to stay still.

"It's like the ice-skating!" The Bokló boy continued to grin, but when he noticed that his team was blinking at him in confusion, the smile froze on his face and he blinked widely at everyone. "Don't tell me I don't do ice-skating in the winter." The boy folded his arms in front of him.

"Cheers! It's not just the chüvigh who missed out on something again." Rahul said with feigned enthusiasm, catching Razvan's arm before he fell, then pushing himself up straight. "Thanks, Tapló boss." He patted Razvan on the shoulder as he slowly let go of him.

"You're welcome." The Zaukán boy nodded, who although he could stand on his two feet, didn't really know how to do this whole sliding business.

"Are you seriously not doing ice-skating?" Benkó was incredulous.

"Listen, peeing boy, I think it's pretty clear that none of us have any idea what you're talking about." Achilleus rolled his eyes.

"Next winter I have to teach you how to do it on ice." The Bokló boy sighed. "Well, now we're doing it on water.x He grinned as he caught Achilleus' hand. "Just try to follow, don't focus on your feet and it will work. I'll teach you all how to do it!" He announced confidently, not even paying attention to the frightened eyes of his companions.
