The next day, no matter how much Elsa tried Eris was not going to dress in those frilly clothes to meet the prince. She was repulsed by even the idea of her marrying someone.
The prince, His Highness Bruno Heinemann arrived at the mention at noon. The handsome royal prince with a great future ahead of him. He looked every bit like his father.
Tall and proud. Eyes gleaming with hope that one day he will rule over the lands of his father. But currently he is here to formalize the engagement to his future bride.
The servants of the house guided to him to seat and wait for Eris to come. The servants provided him with snacks while he waited. But he was here to see his future bride not snacks.
"When will lady Eris arrive?" He asked the maid who was serving him. "I heard she is a bit.... different?" He said due to lack of better terms.
The maid gave an awkward smile, "Well, she can be a bit difficult but underneath, she is a fine young lady." The maid said.
But what came next was not something Bruno had prepared for. Eris went into the room. Standing straight, hands behind her back and in a dress that would be very very scandalous.
Elsa, the duke and the duchess came rushing behind her. "Your highness!" They bowed. "Please pardon us, Eris...." The duke stammered, "The young lady is just trying to show her riding dress." Elsa cut in quickly.
Prince Bruno looked at Eris. From head to toe. He looked at the weird dress his future bride was wearing. It was a uniform that would put the best dress uniform of his knights to shame.
But before he could say something, Eris spoke, "So, this is the brat I am supposed to be marrying?" She said. "He is barely 10. Younger than my Manfred."
"Young lady," Bruno's pride took a hit. So he had to counter, "Excuse me, but I can ride horses right now." He stood a bit straighter and looked smug. Taking pride in his horse riding.
But Eris didn't like that counter. "Well I was building gliders at your age." This gave Bruno's pride a hit. But more than that, he didn't understand.
Before he could ask what a glider is, Elsa was already moving. She is the only one who still had the capacity to move. The duke and the duchess were at this stage statues.
"What's a glider?" Bruno couldn't help asking. Curious what this little girl could build by herself.
But Elsa had already tucked Eris's mouth. "It's nothing you highness. Please pardon the young lady. She is a bit..." Elsa didn't know what to say.
"Our daughter is a bit eccentric your highness." The Duke regained his composure. "Please forgive her." While Duchess gave Eris a blood eye shot.
"Oh no," Bruno replied, "No, need to worry. But I am intrigued what does the lady means by gliders." The duchess turned pale. Even they didn't know what a glider is.
Eris meanwhile got out of Elsa's grip. "Wanna try building one right now?" She asked. Elsa once again placed firm hands on her.
"Oh, it can be built in short time?" Bruno asked amused thinking it might be some doll or embroidery but not thinking that it was an aircraft.
But then again this was Eris, Rommel. In the body of a little girl and of course she'd do it. "Elsa, prepare some wooden boards preferably the lighter ones and canvas and ropes." She instructed.
But Elsa wouldn't budge. "No, young lady. The only thing I'll be preparing will be a new dress for you and a letter of apology for disrespecting his highness."
Eris looked at her maid. The sheer audacity of this woman to go against his will! She is the commander who'd disobey Hitler himself whenever he thought necessary.
"Oh no," Prince Bruno said, shaking his head. "Please that won't be necessary. I am not in the last offended." He said with a smile. "Rather, I am interested to see what the young lady is trying to build with wood and canvas."
Now there was nothing to do for Elsa, duke and duchess. The crown prince has demanded it. So, of course they had to allow it. Elsa went out. Called other servants to prepare what Eris wanted.
They moved outside. Servants gathered the things Eris wanted while she herself took a piece of paper and a quill and started to design. One of those schulgleiter that were used for sports.
Elsa watched, Bruno watched, the Duke and the Duchess watched. Eris ordered the servants around. Ordering them to build the large thing. They looked as Eris looked very very natural and in her own element.
With the help of a bit of magic and the hard labour of the servants and Eris's directions, the thing was ready within two hours, or so Eris declared to the silent crown who watched, the whole incident happen.
