During the evening as the sun was setting, golden light stretched across the city skyline, painting the streets below in warm amber tones.
"Thank you. Come again."
Shan Wolf stepped out from the veterinary clinic, gently holding the little Siberian puppy in his arms.
The glass door closed softly behind him as the cool evening breeze brushed against his face. He glanced down at the small bundle of fur nestled against his chest.
"There, there… This alpha will take care of you."
The puppy barked faintly, its tiny body shifting as it tried to settle more comfortably in Shan Wolf's arms. Its small nose nudged against his shirt, and its tail gave a weak but hopeful wag.
Shan Wolf adjusted his hold carefully, making sure the puppy felt secure. He headed back toward his penthouse, but not before stopping to register the puppy and buy some necessities.
He picked up a small bed, bowls, toys, and a collar. Though his expression remained calm, there was a subtle softness in his eyes as he selected each item.
By the time he arrived at his penthouse, the sky had already begun to darken, and the city lights flickered to life below.
The moment Shan Wolf placed the puppy down on the floor, it jumped out of his arms and began exploring its new home. Its tiny paws tapped softly against the marble floor as it wandered around curiously, sniffing the furniture and corners.
Shan Wolf watched silently, arms crossed, observing the puppy's cautious but excited movements.
"Boy, come here."
He called out in a calm, steady voice.
The puppy immediately turned its head, its ears twitching. Without hesitation, it ran back toward Shan Wolf, its tiny body wobbling slightly as it hurried over. It stopped in front of him and looked up, its bright eyes filled with trust.
Shan Wolf knelt down slowly. His movements were careful, almost gentle, as he reached forward and put the collar around the puppy's neck. The puppy tilted its head slightly, adjusting to the new sensation.
"From now on, this will be your new identity… and your new home."
The puppy wagged its tail in excitement as it adjusted the collar slightly. Hanging from it was a small tag with the name engraved clearly.
Shadow.
The puppy barked softly, as if acknowledging the name. It circled around Shan Wolf once before settling beside him, leaning lightly against his leg.
Shan Wolf glanced down at Shadow, and for a brief moment, the usual coldness in his eyes softened.
"Shadow…"
The puppy's tail wagged again.
As Shadow went to its little bed to rest, Shan Wolf's phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out to see who was calling.
Rae Yoorin.
He picked up the phone, ready to place it to his ear, when a furious voice erupted through the speaker.
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?! WHY AREN'T YOU COMING BACK TO THE COMPANY?!"
Shan Wolf paused, realizing he needed to actually bring the phone to his ear. "I had some business outside, so I took an early leave and headed home," he said, keeping his tone calm.
On the other end, Rae Yoorin wasn't buying it. "Don't bullshit me about business outside. I'll let you off if you tell me the truth."
Shan Wolf exhaled, knowing Rae Yoorin was the see-it-to-believe-it type. His fingers toyed with the collar of Shadow's bed as he answered, "Do you… want to see a puppy at my place?"
The pause on the line was almost audible—then Rae Yoorin's voice softened, a blush creeping into her tone. "A… puppy?"
Thirty minutes later, a sharp knock echoed at the front door of Shan Wolf's penthouse.
"Open the door, Shan," she demanded after ringing the bell, her impatience barely concealed beneath a rising excitement.
Shan Wolf cracked the door open just enough to peek through. "Damn woman… didn't think you'd actually come after I sent you my address," he muttered, amusement flickering in his eyes.
"Hey, I know you're trying to bait me with some lousy excuse about a puppy," Rae Yoorin replied, stepping closer, her gaze flicking suspiciously around the lobby. "Plus, I have something to say to you and… wait—is that really a puppy?"
Her eyes widened as she looked down to see Shadow, wide awake, a small ball clutched gently in its mouth. The puppy's tiny tail wagged furiously as it noticed her, ears perking up.
"Oh… no, it's so cute!!!" Rae Yoorin gasped, kneeling instinctively to extend a hand. She laughed, eyes sparkling, unable to resist the little furball.
Shadow barked softly, trotting over to her and nudging her hand with his tiny snout, tail wagging faster. Rae Yoorin let out a delighted squeal, completely enchanted.
She stepped in for the first time into Shan Wolf's penthouse, her eyes slowly wandering across the high ceiling, the indoor pool, the polished marble floor, the sleek kitchen station, and the large flatscreen TV.
"Damn… I didn't know you had a penthouse. Where the fuck did you get the money from?"
She asked, looking suspiciously over her shoulder at Shan Wolf.
"My money is my privacy. So, straight to the facts. What did you want to ask me about?"
Rae Yoorin turned her gaze away from Shan Wolf and looked out at the amazing city of Seoul stretching endlessly before her.
"Don't worry about Gang Si Won anymore."
She spoke quietly.
"My relationship with Si Won… and my chaebol status… it's all finished."
Shan Wolf walked forward and gently brushed her hair aside, tucking it behind her ear. "I was never worried about it, Yoorin," Shan said, continuing to brush her hair downward gently.
"This is between him and me. I understand what you're feeling, so I wasn't worried about it."
He cupped her cheek with one hand and guided her closer to his lips.
"What are you saying…? You know what I'm feeling…?"
As the tension between them softened, they both kissed under the sun setting lights in the penthouse.
Their lips met, moving slowly against each other in a delicate French kiss. Shan Wolf slid her purse off her shoulder and let it fall aside.
He lifted her into his arms and carried her straight to the bed. Rae Yoorin gasped at the sudden movement as he laid her down.
"King size? You're a monster," she said, half-breathless.
He tugged her closer and began touching her between her legs. "I knew this was going to happen. You called me, and I gave you the address. Just admit you wanted this." Shan Wolf grinned slightly.
"You baited me with the dog, Shan."
He went deeper, slipping in his fingers as Yoorin tried to cover her squeals and moans.
"My, my… you're wet as fuck," Shan said, glancing at his fingers. "Well, time to dig in for the main course."
Shan began taking off her stockings. He freed himself below and positioned himself between her legs.
"You know, I saw you with Si Won the last time we saw each other. At the hotel last year."
"Wait… you mean that time you noticed in the car, me and him were…"
"Yup," Shan said, his expression changing with a new intensity. "And that's when I realized something."
"And what's that you realized…?" Yoorin panted, the heat building between them.
"I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU REALIZE YOU'RE MINE!!!"
In one motion, he pushed inside. Yoorin arched off the bed from the sudden force.
"Uohhh!!!"
He began moving in and out of her. He pulled off her top and undergarments, spreading her legs wider as he went deeper.
"You think I'll be yours if you do it with me?"
"Yes!" Shan Wolf answered with determination as he lifted her legs higher and moved faster. "If I fuck you like this, you're obviously mine!!!"
Shan released his first shot, then continued again without letting her rest.
Yoorin felt overwhelmed by how Shan Wolf was hitting deep inside her. She liked it better this way.
Rough. Passionate. Truthful.
Shan Wolf flipped her over and pulled her closer from behind, their bodies moving together as he kept going.
Rae Yoorin matched his rhythm, her fingers gripping the sheets as their breathing grew heavier, the sound of the city fading beneath their quiet gasps and the soft rustling of the bedsheets.
Their movements became more natural, more synchronized, as if they had already learned each other's pace without needing words.
But there was something else.
Something hidden inside Rae Yoorin's purse.
As their muffled sounds filled the room, a tiny hidden microphone inside her bag transmitted everything.
Far away, inside the Won Mansion, Jen Heo Won sat in her room with the door locked tightly. The dim lights cast shadows across her face as she listened through her headset.
Her breathing slowly changed as she realized what she was hearing.
Her fingers tightened against the armrest of her chair, her thoughts growing restless. A faint shiver ran through her body as her cheeks flushed slightly, her composure gradually slipping.
She shifted in her seat, her expression growing conflicted as the sounds continued through the headset.
The quiet room around her felt heavier, warmer, as she kept listening, unable to pull herself away.
An hour earlier, just before Rae Yoorin was about to head out to see Shan Wolf and the puppy he mentioned, Jen Heo Won, the vice president of Won Group, stopped her in the hallway.
"Here, a little something."
Jen Heo Won handed her a new purse.
Rae Yoorin blinked in surprise, taking the bag cautiously. She wondered to herself if this was another task. Perhaps something related to finding the weaknesses of the secret group gathered by Ingrid Mikage, with Shan Wolf, Eva Kim, Moo Jin Soo, and Rae Yoorin herself, as she was the mole working behind the scenes.
Inside the purse, hidden carefully within the lining, was a small phone. It had already been hacked and placed on voice recording, quietly capturing everything.
Present time.
Shan Wolf pulled Yoorin from the bed and pressed her gently against the wall, his hand sliding around her waist as he held her firmly. Their breathing grew heavier as the tension between them continued to build.
"Now say it with your own mouth… who do you belong to?" Shan Wolf demanded in a low voice.
"Ah… I don't want to say it…" Yoorin murmured, her voice trembling. Then she closed her eyes, her grip tightening. "But… yes. Fine… yes. I'm yours."
They stayed there for a moment longer, their breathing gradually slowing as the intensity faded.
Back at the Won Mansion, Jen Heo Won removed her headset slowly, her expression flushed as she leaned back in her chair. Her thoughts were restless, her composure shaken by everything she had just heard.
After some time, Rae Yoorin and Shan Wolf dressed themselves again.
"Say… can you walk with me to the cab? I booked it, and the meeting location is a bit far from here," Yoorin asked, adjusting her hair.
"Yeah, sure," Shan Wolf replied calmly.
The two walked out of Shan Wolf's penthouse, leaving Shadow to sleep peacefully in its bed.
"It was nice, you know… the sex and the puppy," said Rae Yoorin.
"Yeah, it's nice," said Shan Wolf.
The two walked together awkwardly in silence for a few moments.
"Here, I can handle myself. Thanks, Shan Wolf," she said.
As they were about to part ways, a black SUV suddenly sped toward them.
Shan Wolf reacted instantly, pulling Rae Yoorin into his arms. The vehicle screeched to a halt just inches away from them.
"Shan Wolf!" a voice called out.
Shan Wolf looked up, recognizing the man immediately.
It was Gin Chu Won.
"Are you okay?" Gin Chu Won asked, his tone calm—but his eyes carried something else beneath the surface.
Within seconds, three more SUVs pulled up from different directions, surrounding the area.
Men stepped out from each vehicle. Thugs, all of them.
Metal clubs. Sickles. Knives.
The air shifted instantly.
At the back of the group, one individual stood quietly, observing without saying a word.
Gin Chu Won lit a lighter, the flame flickering against his expression as he stared at Shan Wolf.
"That's a relief," he said casually.
Then his gaze sharpened.
"Time to really beat the shit out of you… after what you did to my club."
