Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Hidden Truth

"Sister Elizabeth, Sister Rose. I am back. I am healthy and fine."

His voice was more reassuring than anything else at this moment, making both his sisters feel relieved and finally putting their hearts at ease. They hugged him back and even tightened their embrace.

Looking at them, Xiao criticized in his mind.

'Wow, what a touching reunion. I almost wiped to tears! Wait, no! I was almost moved to tears! Uh, yes, that was what I wanted to say. And dammit, why the hell are you guys hugging me like a damn pillow or a teddy bear? Goddammit! I feel like you would squeeze me to death. At least have some mercy on your brother, you goddamn witches.'

Even though Xiao wanted to complain right now, he was mature enough to know not to ruin this heartwarming family moment. Otherwise, he would definitely be called a 'scum' and an 'asshole' by his friends and grandmother if they happened to see it!

'No! I am definitely not!'

Xiao thought as he refused to believe that he was someone like that. No, he was much more noble and gentlemanly to even be associated with those lonely terms.

So he closed his eyes slightly as he inwardly shook his head.

'Ahh, whatever. Let's just go with the flow.'

They hugged like that for a good few minutes before Xiao felt that it was enough. He lightly coughed and said.

"Ahh, ladies... I hate to break it to you, but can you guys let me go? You know I am suffocating right now. So can you guys just show some mercy to your one and only brother?"

They looked at each other as a moment of silence passed between them. The next moment, all of them broke into laughter. They released him from their hug as his two sisters looked at each other and giggled.

Only the sound of their sweet laughter existed in the room, making Xiao feel an unexpected warmth as he looked at them with a slight smile on his calm face.

A few moments later, the beautiful sword cultivator Elizabeth looked at him with her sharp but softened eyes and said,

"Xiao'er, what actually happened?"

Rose was the same as her bright pink eyes looked at him.

"Yes, little brother. I am curious too! How did your illness suddenly disappear? It seems to have vanished out of nowhere!!"

Both of them looked at him as they waited, expecting him to answer. Even if he couldn't, then at least they might be able to gain some clues about it.

Looking at their expectant gazes, which were filled with curiosity and confusion, Xiao sighed inwardly.

'Ah, here we go. Really, I thought they might ask about it later. But well, I can't really blame them, nor does it make sense to complain either. Well, I already expected them to ask anyway. So let's just answer it honestly, after all.'

Xiao coughed lightly as he sighed.

"Uh, about that. Sisters, I really don't know at all. I was just sleeping in bed, dreaming and suffering from the pain of that damned illness. Until suddenly, I felt a terrible pain assaulting my mind, and before I knew it, I could move my body again without any pain or other issues at all. It was as though I had never been infected in the first place."

He further added,

"Also, at the same time, my body feels much more powerful, stronger, and full of vitality on top of that. The entire thing was so bizarre and strange. I was very stunned and surprised for a long time, to the point where I thought that someone was playing a prank on me. Really, the entire situation is very bizarre."

Xiao was not telling lies. Instead, he was telling them the truth, but not the complete truth, leaving out his transmigration and his guesses and theories behind it.

Hearing that, his sisters narrowed their eyes as they looked at each other for a few moments, as though they were secretly communicating with one another. A moment of unsettling silence seemed to fill the entire room.

Xiao cursed inwardly.

'Dammit, did they find anything suspicious? But I told them the complete truth. I just left out the transmigration part. Holy... my sisters have many secret methods of divination and other ways to calculate Heaven's secrets.'

'I don't even know their cultivation level on top of that. They might, at bare minimum, be at the level of a Void Shattering Realm expert, or even worse, a Supreme Being! Damn, my dear Void Record, please just save your master from being exposed at the start. Dammit, will my glorious journey just end like this before it can even begin?'

He tried to communicate with Void Record in his mind, but no matter what he did, the mysterious artifact did not answer him at all. Instead, just like the last time, it ignored him.

Making Xiao almost faint from anger as he cursed the artifact's entire nine generations in his mind. But then Xiao quickly calmed down as his mind became calm and indifferent.

He thought.

'No need to get this panicked and worried. Let's see what happens when they try to divine information about me. Anyway, my transmigration is related to Void Record. So if they try to find information about it, I don't think they'll be able to discover anything.'

Xiao continued to speculate inwardly.

'Even though I don't know the exact level of Void Record, I can at least guess that it might be at a very high level. Maybe surpassing anything that the endless Heavens can withstand. So there's no way they can simply obtain any information about an artifact of this level. I believe an artifact such as Void Record has anti-divination and anti-prophecy abilities. Not active ones, but passive ones. So any attempt to obtain information from an artifact of this caliber might even result in a backlash.'

He sighed inwardly.
