Chapter 545 - Chapter 541: Round Table Army

The formation of the Round Table Army was, to some extent, closely related to Oberon. In short, as long as it made Morgan uncomfortable, no matter how small the matter was, he was happy to do it.

After learning that Percival had no way to contact Oberon, Jiang You knew where to go to find him. At this moment, Oberon should still be by Artoria Caster's side, playing the role of "Merlin." As the final device of the Cursed World, his true identity being Vortigern, he had always hated this world. Aside from the Calamity, he was the greatest obstacle to Morgan maintaining this Lostbelt.

Actually, Jiang You could understand Oberon's thoughts. From a human perspective, this Lostbelt was indeed completely rotten. However, Jiang You had no objection if Morgan wanted to continue. After all, it wouldn't be right to club to death the few fairies who still looked human. Anyway, he was already prepared to take his fellow humans out of this mire, and whatever Morgan did afterward would be up to her.

Next, Jiang You took Percival and Gareth to Fuyuki. The world entirely belonging to humans opened the eyes of these two born in the Faerie Realm. This also made them believe that Jiang You indeed had a way to help humans escape from this sea of suffering.

"That's the situation. Whether you trust me or not won't change the outcome." Having strength was indeed a good thing. You didn't have to waste all your effort trying to convince others. The law of the jungle was simply the truth. Jiang You's way of thinking had gradually aligned with the Faerie Realm's. Sometimes, the problem was just this simple. "Of course, I'm being sincere. I'll arrange for the humans I bring out to come here later. Being away from those mentally unstable fairies will make you feel safer, right? The only thing I need your help with is maintaining order."

Overall, Percival was still a child who could distinguish right from wrong. His ties to the Faerie Realm didn't affect his judgment on serious matters. After asking Jiang You in detail about the preparations needed, he immediately arranged for people to get busy. He also provided information on Artoria Caster's current location.

This was a street in a certain town.

"To think that our majestic Child of Prophecy is actually working part-time in a bakery." Looking at Artoria Caster, who was offering a very forced smile to a customer, Jiang You found it quite funny. "And people actually still come to buy things despite your service attitude. It looks like the boss's skills are quite good."

Hearing someone call her the Child of Prophecy, Artoria Caster's hand instinctively trembled. She thought Morgan had sent someone to capture her; back then, Morgan's search for the Child of Prophecy had thrown all of Britain into turmoil. Artoria Caster silently grabbed the staff beneath the counter. If the other party tried to harm her, she would strike first. At this distance, striking directly with the staff would effectively unleash a stunning spell, allowing her to then escape.

Artoria Caster looked up and saw an unfamiliar human man. But that wasn't the main point. The main point was that a petite fairy with a violet color scheme was following behind him.

Melusine's appearance was something that practically everyone in Britain knew. As the most exalted Dragon Fairy, there was almost no one who didn't recognize her.

As expected, they came to arrest me! Artoria Caster abruptly raised her staff, first casting a Flash Spell, then striking down toward Jiang You's head. "Merlin" had long since taught her this kind of thing. With her strength, most opponents had no way to resist. So, in order to avoid smashing the newcomer's head, Artoria Caster still held back a little of her power.

She soon regretted it, because the force feedback from her hand made her whole body go numb. The opponent's defensive ability was ridiculously strong. It seemed too late now. Artoria Caster, wanting to remedy the situation, immediately released a lethal spell, but no matter what, she couldn't even raise a single point of magical power. The opponent had obviously made preparations to counter it. This time, it seemed she was finished.

"Since negotiations have failed, then, say goodbye to this world!" Jiang You controlled his magical power output, its magnitude just about the same as Morgan's. He hadn't learned complex spells yet, but simply releasing magical power to radiate an aura was simple. With her current strength, Artoria Caster was completely unable to resist an opponent of Morgan's level.

"I say, young man, you must have the wrong person." A big moth with seven-colored wings appeared right beside Jiang You, grabbing Jiang You's arm as he was about to slap Artoria Caster. His strength wasn't very great, but he gave off a considerably dangerous feeling. "Hasn't the person chosen as the Child of Prophecy already been confirmed? Fairy Knight Tristan is the chosen Child of Prophecy. If you keep grabbing people randomly like this, I'm going to report you."

Jiang You smiled. He had pretended to kill Artoria Caster just to force Oberon out. As Morgan's rival, he indeed possessed the strength to confront her directly, which was why Jiang You had deliberately kept his power output at Morgan's level, giving Oberon the illusion of a crisis he could still resolve.

"As expected, I can't hear much truth from your mouth. My stereotypes have been reinforced again, Oberon—" Jiang You deliberately drew out his words. Sometimes, acting cool was truly addictive, especially when seeing a guy like this show a surprised expression. "—Mr. Vortigern, or perhaps, should I call you the Abyssal Worm?"

Oberon was indeed a veteran actor. Even Morgan would have shown surprise in such a situation, yet he showed no reaction at all, only the surrounding aura grew a bit heavier. Jiang You could guess how dangerous the gaze beneath those smiling eyes was. "Young man, what nonsense are you talking about?"

Despite his words, Oberon launched a direct attack. He had never revealed his true identity to anyone, and his past had been specially concealed. Even Morgan, from her throne, could not uncover his origins. How had this human man discovered it? He was curious, but he chose not to pursue the matter further. His plan had no room for variables; this human was too dangerous, and death was the only acceptable outcome.

"It's true that we are enemies," Jiang You said, having guessed this outcome. His and Oberon's positions were naturally at odds, so he didn't even get angry. "But does it have to be a fight to the death to solve the problem? Why not wait a little longer? This Lostbelt has existed for thousands of years already. A little more time shouldn't matter much to you, right?"

If he were completely on Morgan's side and had maxed out her affection in one go, turning Oberon over for her to seal would have been the best choice. However, Jiang You saw no need for that. "For example, how about going out to see the sky? Isn't it much better than this dump?"

Oberon understood the futility of words, being a master of them himself, yet he did not stop his attack and continued to strike with lethal intent. However, he quickly discovered that his opponent had been holding back. The reason he dared to appear was because he believed he had the ability to resolve the situation here, yet he found himself completely unable to resist. Escaping with Artoria Caster would still be possible, but he never expected the man's hidden strength to be so terrifying. The man standing here possessed power nearly enough to solve the entire world singlehandedly.

Where on earth did Morgan find this monster? Oberon sighed. Now he had no choice but to listen carefully to the man's conditions.

Jiang You nodded in satisfaction. No wonder Superman only ever used his super body, because his super brain told him that beating someone into submission first could solve most problems. He pulled Artoria Caster in front of Oberon. "This is the 'Merlin' who will teach you spells. Come on, call him Master."

"?" Clearly, Artoria Caster still hadn't figured out the situation. She felt like her story was starting to go completely off the rails, though this feeling had already begun when the Pilgrimage Bell rang.
