Meanwhile, the earth-shattering battle between Carl and Kaido showed no signs of ending. Carl had split his massive, door-sized giant sword into two pieces; one half served as a platform to ferry Law safely away from the center of the shockwaves, while Carl stood firmly on the other half to continue his confrontation with Kaido.
Kaido was no longer in his full Azure Dragon form, yet he remained suspended in the air, a testament to the versatile flight abilities granted by his Mythical Zoan fruit. The two warriors clashed repeatedly, their weapons meeting with the roar of thunder that split the clear blue sky. The sheer force of their exchange seemed to tear at the fabric of space itself, creating a scene of absolute terror for any onlooker.
Among the very few witnesses was Doflamingo, who watched the spectacle in stunned silence. He had always been confident in Kaido's overwhelming strength and had dismissed rumors that the Straw Hats had previously forced the Governor-General of the Beasts Pirates to retreat as mere lies. Now, seeing Carl hold his own and even press the advantage against Kaido, he realized the rumors were true. Doflamingo knew his survival depended entirely on Kaido's victory.
"Doflamingo, your life ends here!" Law's voice cut through the air.
Using his Shambles ability, Law suddenly appeared above Doflamingo, aiming for the King of Dressrosa's head. However, Doflamingo's Observation Haki was sharp; he easily sensed the intent and dodged the strike. Rather than counterattacking, Doflamingo chose to retreat, his body heavy from the serious injuries he had already sustained.
Law pressed the attack, sensing Doflamingo's weakness. Between the agony of a severed hand and the devastating impact of Carl's earlier Hakoku Sovereign strike, the Warlord's strength had dropped sharply. Law knew this was his best chance to settle his long-standing grudge.
"ROOM! Shambles!" Law shouted.
Law's fingers danced as he expanded his operating space, suddenly swirling seawater around Doflamingo. Law had realized he could manipulate anything within his ROOM—including the sea. As a Devil Fruit user, Doflamingo would be rendered powerless if he were fully submerged.
Doflamingo's face darkened as he frantically used his strings to hook onto clouds, swinging through the air to stay above the rising water. Law relentlessly pursued him, expanding his ROOM to trap the Warlord. Sensing the trap, Doflamingo maneuvered desperately to stay outside the boundary of Law's control.
Seeing Law struggle to close the distance, Carl exerted his will over the half of the giant sword beneath Law's feet. The blade suddenly accelerated, thrusting Law forward. The ROOM expanded instantly, catching Doflamingo off guard.
"Damn you, Law!" Doflamingo hissed.
He quickly wove a shield of threads to block the encroaching seawater, but Law changed tactics in a heartbeat. Using his Shambles ability, Law swapped his own position to appear directly in front of Doflamingo, pressing both thumbs against the Warlord's chest.
"Counter Shock!"
A high-frequency burst of electricity surged into Doflamingo, blurring his vision and staggering him. Before Doflamingo could fully recover his senses, Law gathered a shimmering light into his right hand, forming a blade of pure energy that radiated the very scent of death.
"Go to hell, Doflamingo! Gamma Knife!"
Law plunged the energy blade into Doflamingo's chest without hesitation. Beams of gamma rays exploded inside Doflamingo's body, systematically destroying his internal organs from the inside out. Doflamingo coughed up a spray of blood, his eyes rolling back as his consciousness faded.
"I did it! Mr. Corazon, I've finally avenged you!" Law cried out.
Tears streamed from his eyes as he collapsed from total exhaustion. He fell backward, caught safely by the giant sword, while Doflamingo plummeted toward the sea below.
Kaido's expression shifted to one of pure rage. He forced Carl back with a sudden, powerful strike and dived to catch the falling Doflamingo. Looking at the mangled state of his business partner, Kaido's face grew incredibly gloomy. Carl immediately moved to Law's side to protect him.
"Carl is in charge... I did it," Law whispered, gripping Carl's wrist with his remaining strength.
"You did well. You finally got your revenge," Carl replied calmly, though his eyes remained fixed on Doflamingo.
Carl knew how tenacious Doflamingo was. Even with a destroyed heart, the man was difficult to kill. Kaido clearly shared this suspicion, which is why he had rushed to save him.
"You bastards! You killed Joker!" Kaido roared, his voice trembling with fury. "Do you have any idea how many deals the Beasts Pirates have with him? You've destroyed our business and our path to becoming the strongest crew! I'll kill you both for this!"
The alliance with Doflamingo had provided Kaido with immense wealth, weapons, Artificial Devil Fruits, and chemical weapons. To Kaido, Doflamingo was an indispensable businessman.
Carl shrugged with indifference. "He's dead, and we aren't losing any sleep over it. If you want to kill us, you're welcome to try—if you think you're capable."
As he spoke, Carl pulled out a useless Devil Fruit and began tossing it casually in his hand. The sight made Kaido hesitate. While Kaido was confident in his own durability, the thought of Carl's "shameless" tactic—forcing him to consume a second Devil Fruit—made him pause. Doflamingo wasn't worth dying for.
Just as Kaido wavered, he felt a movement from the body in his arms. Looking closely at the chest wound, he saw fine threads working busily to stitch the internal organs back together. Doflamingo was still clinging to life.
"Hahahaha! Joker, I knew you wouldn't die that easily!" Kaido laughed, his mood shifting instantly.
"What? He's still alive?!" Law tried to struggle to his feet, but he was far too weak.
Carl gently held him down. "Relax, Law. Take your rest. If you could kill him once, you can do it a second time. Just focus on recovering before he does, and you can finish the job then."
