Hey whoever still has this in their library for some reason. I am not continuing this story and do not intend to, so feel free to click off if you don't want to hear my new idea(s) and random rambling.
Still here? Fun. To set clear expectations, all of these are maybes at best and will likely be dropped when I get bored or too much stuff is going on since I mostly write for my own amusement. It is also likely that my writing will suck because my talent seems to lie in pseudo-intellectual mysticism, somewhat realistic production methods, and describing duels in a way that is somewhat easy to keep track, most of which will not be involved with any of these ideas. Feel free to critic my ideas if you want or take them if you'd rather do it yourself.
Starting with a simple one, this is an unofficial novelization of one of the two Leon-Talks-A-Lot multi-hour Minecraft videos. These videos, titled 2 Hours of Pain and 7 Hours of Pain, are Minecraft Let's Play videos where Leon plays one of the hardest Minecraft mods ever, Better Than Wolves(BTW), and an updated harder version called BTW: Nightmare Mode.
This novelization would be from the perspective of Steve, the name of the default skin/player character in Minecraft, and would explore themes of hope, determination, despair, pain, and perhaps even control and freedom as Steve tries to defeat The Ender Dragon(Minecraft's Final Boss) either to stop the monsters that come out of night or because a god-like being is forcing him to with the promise of freedom. Most events would likely be adapted directly from either video with little changes to flesh out the world in general.
I may make one as a sequel to the other to allow myself to do both premises. In that case, I would likely have the first part be the 2 Hours of Pain video, with Steve either starting as free and being thrown into the 7 Hours of Pain as punishment for killing a god's pet dragon or Steve would start as enslaved by the god only to find that the real world is much harder to succeed in.
My next idea would have a lot more original world-building as I would effectively be isekaiing a bunch of characters into an original universe. The characters in this case would be from the game Deadly Premonition, a Twin Peaks-style Action Horror Mystery game where you play as Francis York Morgan, a strange FBI agent who comes to the small town of Greenville, Washington to investigate the murder of a young woman there.
He quickly finds that the murder is connected to an active FBI case, taking control of the investigation fully as more bodies are found and the seemingly normal townsfolk are routinely found to be far stranger than they appear. It isn't exactly a good game but it is a very interesting and surreal one, with a channel called TotallyPointlessTV covering both it and its sequel and prequel, Deadly Premonition 2.
In this fanfic, various characters from these games(mostly the first one) get isekaied into a jrpg-style fantasy dungeon crawler world and they get various powers and classes relating to their past life. It would spoil some major twists in the games pretty early on but it would focus more on the characters and how they would interact with this new world. This one is definitely my least thought out idea though.
Another relatively un-thought out idea is a kinda fusing of a gacha game called Honkai Star Rail(HSR) and the tv show Invincible. Somewhat inspired by the AO3 fic, Red/Line by AegirTheSeaTitan, the changes to canon would start around the first Flaxan(green dimension-conquering aliens) Invasion with their unstable portal tech creating small atomic rifts between the Invincible verse and the HSR verse, rifts that start leaking a HSR exclusive energy called Path Energy.
Path energy is a kind of mix between divine power bestowed upon someone and personal power feuled by emotions(like a debuffed Determination from Undertale). Pretty much, there are these guys called Aeons that are so vast and powerful that the equivalent of an unconscious eye movement caused by someone's determination to do something can bestow said someone with minor superpowers, with said powers depending on what they did to draw the Aeon's eye.
They are now a Pathstrider and, through personal training and drawing the eye of the Aeon to recognize them, they can be directly blessed and promoted to become a demigod of the Aeon, and Emanator(A Pathstrider walks the path, an Emanator emanates it).
I don't know exactly what I would do from there but I do know that the first Invincible Pathstrider would happen around the Invincible War(a war involving different versions of Invincible attempting to conquer the mainline's planet because they made a deal with an insane multiverse traveler) and that HSR characters would only arrive way later, if at all.
A quick idea but long story is pretty much a game of the new Tomodachi Life game from the perspective of the Miis on the island and it would be somewhere from horror to dystopian novel.
A longer idea but quicker story would be one where a fascist president is elected in the DC comic's version of US, followed by a landslide liberal victory for the mayoralship in either Gotham or New York(based on or literally Zohran Mamdani). This inspires Lex Luthor to run for mayor in Metropolis with a similar strategy,. This ends up with him having the unexpected support and public endorsement from Superman, who has previously stayed out of politics and has only recently gotten enough time for himself to actively check in on things and how fucked things are. It would be somewhat comedic in tone but more focused on Luthor's relationship to Superman and Clark Kent, potentially in a homo way but I haven't attempted writing romance before and I'm probably not starting now.
My last fanfic idea is MCU/Digimon(specifically Frontier) fusion. The MCU part would be distinctly less scifi and have no aliens period. This means toning most elements down and completely reworking certain aspects. Asgardians, for example, would have to go poof and every character from that side of it having completely new backgrounds. Another is Wakanda which, without the incognito shield barrier, would also need a lot of reworking to keep similar.
In my view, Asgard's everything would best map onto a mafia type story. Specifically, Odin's father established a major crime family that Odin would massively expand before going legit. Hela, with the support of the "Dark Elves" branch, would attempt to take control of the family, ultimately being put under house arrest or into jail as a scapegoat as the rest of the empire turned to more commercial endeavor.
Asgardian names would mostly be codenames for plausible deniability in relation to criminal aspects, with Thor being thrown out with a stilend for causing major trouble(either trying to take down a tenuously allied force(Ice Giants) or because he nearly exposed something major to the Feds) before he eventually grew as a person.
Wakanda would likely be an isolationist country surviving on a conspiracy, in this case a costly mining trade based off of a toned-down Vibranium. I imagine it as a conspiracy where they massively undersell how common it is in Wakanda to create a massive store of it to use for secret government technology used to maintain their independence, both because other countries have higher reported amounts(making them a better target) and because their advanced intelligence tech allows them to counter potential threats to their sovereignty while maintaining a guise of weakness and neutrality.
Hydra would actually stay mostly the same, along with Iron Man, Captain America, Bucky, and others. There would be three major differences though. First, the Super Soldier Serum is mostly a life-extension serum that happens to make someone much stronger(but more advanced athlete level rather than super strength). Second, Captain America's death is faked, both to make him a martyr and allow him to have a public life, mostly because he can only be used as a benchmark for what the serum is capable of, not what it is made from, and by the time they found him alive SHIELD had already been formed and petitioned for it in exchange for some concessions, ones that just so happened to let a snake or two in. Finally, instead of making a super-suit, Tony makes the laser equivalent of an AK-47 with a scope that can see through walls.
But where does the Digimon come in? Easy, during the time in the cave, Tony dreams of a bit of the future, which allows him to make the escape before he even realizes the dreams are visions and with only a laser gun(btw he still makes the miniature arc reactor). Then, once he gets back, the visions become more prominent and, seemingly, insistent on what he needs to create. A device that can interface with the digital world, the sub-dimension where digimon live based on the data of reality, a digivice so to speak.
Whenever he first finishes one, he think it is just a highly sophisticated toy and uses it as a new product alongside arc reactor-based clean energy(because I don't want to deal with global warming) to get Stane of his back. I honestly don't know how far I will go with it before Digimon shit starts happening. I could say it becomes a commercial flop, with few devices finding their ways to those chosen few, or maybe it becomes a brief phenomenon with the first digivices(in this version of events being little more than toys) but later versions, the truly powerful ones, being mostly flops as strange supernatural events start happening in the background.
What I do know though is that the ones that end up in the hands of heroes are going to be the ones from Digimon Frontier, where the devices act less like communicators with digimon and more like the catalyst for a transformation sequence into digimon, where each hero will get their own custome digimon form and(hopefully) badly made original art.
