Gu Yuzhi scrutinized that painting.
It's often said that a skillful portrait resembles the subject in spirit, rather than being an exact replica like a photograph.
Yet, the portrait that Gu Qiusha made of Nangong Mo seemed to be filtered somehow, projecting an image more elegant and dashing than his usual impression of Nangong Mo.
Especially the eyes, which had been meticulously depicted to appear extraordinary and refined.
It seemed as if the "heretic" side of Nangong Mo's "tyrannical" gaze had been erased, leaving only the fierce and bold aspect.
Who did it resemble?
"It looks like a character from your comic." Gu Yuzhi finally recalled, "Like the one played by Xi Langyue."
"You mean Emperor Fu Xi?" Gu Qiusha laughed.
But upon closer inspection, the portrait of Nangong Mo, devoid of malice in the eyes, indeed had a bit of a comic feel to its facial features.
Was she so accustomed to drawing comics that it unconsciously influenced her portraits of others?
