If it weren't for the warmth beside her, Violet Zimmerman would have thought Daxton Lancaster hadn't come back to the room all night.
After getting dressed and tidied up, Violet came downstairs. As soon as she stepped onto the staircase, she saw Daxton sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper.
The morning sun streamed in through the open doors and windows, casting over the man. Despite being a lovely scene, the man bathed in sunlight gave off an air of loneliness.
"Daxton, you're up so early," Violet greeted proactively, still having some qualms about the events of the previous night.
Married for two days, yet her husband hadn't touched her. If word got out, who knew how people might mock her.
Daxton raised his head, watching the woman in a pink suit walk down the stairs step by step, the corners of his lips curved slightly.
"Why not sleep a bit longer?"
Just then, an older servant passed by the hall. Hearing what the man said, the servant instinctively glanced up at Violet.
