Violet Zimmerman's displeased voice came through, "Evander, what nonsense did you tell that girl again? You scared her away!"
"I wasn't talking nonsense, I was just telling the truth. She's just too timid. A doctor who's afraid to use a scalpel!" Evander leaned back in the driver's seat, a smug smile on his lips but an innocent tone in his voice.
"Evander, I don't care what you think, by the end of this year, you must find a girlfriend!" Violet had no patience for her son's excuses, and her stern voice came through the receiver.
"Mom, I'm not in a hurry. Why are you so anxious? If you want to play with grandkids, hasn't my sister-in-law already had two...?"
