Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: His Unique Aesthetic

It seemed like he would need to buy a few outfits for Shu Mengyao. Lin Yang made a mental note of this.

"Yes, we can go home now," he said gently while placing Xingxing from the baby bed into the stroller Chen Tingting had bought.

At the moment, they only had one stroller. Lin Yang wanted to buy another, but Chen Tingting had repeatedly insisted that she would repay this favor; otherwise, she wouldn't let him graduate.

Although Lin Yang found her words amusing, he respected her wishes and didn't purchase another stroller. For now, he carried Yunyun in one arm while pushing Xingxing's stroller with the other.

"Let me push it," Shu Mengyao offered eagerly. After a few days of rest, her complexion looked much healthier.

"I'll handle it. You need to prioritize your recovery," Lin Yang replied, still concerned about her health.

Although the doctor had confirmed she was fit for discharge, he couldn't help but worry.

"I'm fine!" Shu Mengyao insisted. Her determination eventually convinced Lin Yang to let her take over the stroller.

The babies weren't too heavy yet, and the two of them slowly made their way out of the hospital.

[Ding! Congratulations, host, on bringing the babies home. Reward: a property in Xinghe Bay.]

[The property deed is in the main bedroom drawer, and the keys have been placed in your pocket.]

The system's notification caught Lin Yang off guard—a pleasant surprise.

He had planned to take Shu Mengyao to the small apartment he was renting, which still had a month left on the lease. He thought they could stay there temporarily while he searched for a better place to rent.

But now, the system had rewarded him with a property.

Xinghe Bay, though located on the outskirts of Jiangcheng, had a good reputation for its green spaces and property management.

Lin Yang glanced at the property details—a three-bedroom apartment worth at least two to three million yuan. While not overly spacious, it was more than enough for their family of four.

"The air feels so fresh!" Shu Mengyao exclaimed as she took a deep breath of the outside air.

"I haven't been out in days," she said, quickly pulling out her phone to open a ride-hailing app.

"Lin Yang, what's your address? I'll book us a ride!"

"No need," Lin Yang replied with a smile.

"But I want to contribute too!" Shu Mengyao protested. Over the past few days, Lin Yang had spent so much money on her, and while a ride wasn't a significant expense, she felt compelled to help share the burden.

"Wait… you haven't rented a place yet, have you?" she asked hesitantly.

It suddenly dawned on her that Lin Yang, a recent graduate, might not have had time to rent an apartment yet. With the hospital bills piling up, affording a rental would indeed be challenging.

Her heart sank at the thought.

"If that's the case, I… I'll talk to my parents about it," she said, steeling herself for what she knew would be a difficult conversation.

"I have a place. It's not what you think," Lin Yang said, amused by her concern.

This girl was truly adorable and thoughtful.

"Of course, we'll meet your parents when you're feeling better. But for now, let's go home," he added.

"Then why didn't you tell me your address earlier?" Shu Mengyao pouted, her curiosity piqued.

"Do you… not want to bring me home?" she asked hesitantly, her voice tinged with sadness.

"What's going on in that little head of yours?" Lin Yang laughed, pointing toward the parking garage.

"My car is parked over there. Why would we need a ride?"

Together, they strolled to the parking garage. The system had already provided Lin Yang with the location and license plate number, so it didn't take long to find the car.

"Wow, a minivan!" Shu Mengyao exclaimed in surprise when she saw the Toyota Alphard.

Lin Yang's choice of a seven-seater minivan was certainly unusual for someone his age.

"Yes, it's more convenient for outings with the babies," Lin Yang explained, opening the car door for her. Inside, there were specially designed infant car seats.

"Are these for the babies?" Shu Mengyao asked, intrigued.

"Yes, these are basket-style car seats made for newborns. They're designed to maximize safety for their tiny bodies," Lin Yang explained patiently.

"I only knew about regular car seats," Shu Mengyao said, her eyes lighting up with understanding.

"Normal seats aren't suitable for newborns," Lin Yang continued, carefully placing Yunyun in one of the infant seats before doing the same for Xingxing.

"Alright, you sit next to the babies," he instructed, ensuring both seats were secure before helping Shu Mengyao settle in.

With everyone safely in the car, Lin Yang took the driver's seat and started the journey home.

The hospital was located in the city center, while Xinghe Bay was in the suburbs. After a 30-minute drive, they arrived at the gated community.

Lin Yang pulled out the access card from his pocket.

"Welcome home!" the security guard greeted cheerfully, opening the gate.

Lin Yang drove to the building's entrance and parked the car.

When he turned to check on his passengers, he found that both babies and Shu Mengyao had fallen asleep.

Newborns naturally slept a lot, and Shu Mengyao had been exhausted from the hospital stay.

Lin Yang stayed in the driver's seat, letting them rest for a little while longer.
