The moment Dream's head struck the ground, I felt the black chain connecting his existence to mine disappear. The strange ethereal link dissolved into wisps of darkness, leaving only the crimson chains of the Eternal Seal wrapped around Viserys and me.
Viserys noticed it as well.
Her expression changed almost instantly.
A grin slowly spread across her face, widening until it seemed to consume half of it. There was nothing remotely human about the expression. It was unhinged, almost demonic, and the black smoke leaking from the cracks across her body began pouring out with even greater intensity. She lowered her head slightly, and when she finally spoke, her voice was barely more than a whisper.
"Soul Sacrifice."
The black ocean beyond the crimson dome erupted.
