Amun continued chuckling for several seconds afterward before finally calming down slightly.
"Oh come on," he said. "You should feel honored. Very few people get personally selected by me to become weapons of mass destruction."
"That sentence is exactly why I don't trusts you."
"That hurts, Billion."
"It should."
I could feel his amusement clearly even through the mental connection.
Then after a brief pause his tone shifted slightly, becoming calmer than before.
"Jokes aside," he said, "you really did return stronger."
My eyes narrowed faintly inside the darkness of the coffin.
"What gave it away?"
"The fact that your perception reached me from inside a synchronization coffin without even trying," he replied casually. "Before leaving, you would not have been able to sense me properly unless I allowed it."
"And now?" I asked.
Amun remained silent for a moment. Then he chuckled softly again without replying.
I didn't ask him anything after that.
