Back in Kuoh
Kuroyami stepped out of the teleportation circle and found himself back in Kuoh Academy's courtyard.
The air was still, the sun hanging lazily overhead.
Rias was waiting.
She looked at him expectantly. "Well?"
Kuroyami yawned. "Lucifer wants to know where I stand when the big bad finally shows up."
Rias frowned. "And?"
Kuroyami smirked. "Told him I'd see if it's interesting first."
Rias sighed. "You really don't take anything seriously, do you?"
Kuroyami shrugged. "Why should I? If it's strong, I fight it. If it's weak, I ignore it."
Akeno, who had just arrived, giggled. "Such a simple mindset. It's almost admirable."
Before Rias could reply, a sharp pulse of power rippled through the air.
Kuroyami's smirk faded.
Rias' eyes widened. "What was that…?"
Akeno's expression turned serious. "That wasn't normal magic."
Kuroyami turned his gaze toward the distant horizon.
Something had just woken up.
In the Abyss of the Underworld
The land trembled.
Crimson skies swirled above as a massive, dark form rose from the shattered earth.
Two glowing red eyes pierced through the shadows.
A voice, ancient and filled with overwhelming power, rumbled through the world.
"Finally… after millennia… I rise once more."
The ground cracked.
Lava erupted.
From the abyss, a colossal being pulled itself free—a dragon so vast its presence distorted reality itself.
Its scales were darker than the void, its wings spanning miles.
"I am... Azhdaha, the Devourer of Realms."
The Underworld's skies screamed as its presence alone twisted space.
Watching from a distance, the lone figure from before smirked.
"The game begins."
Back in Grigori
Azazel sat in his office, casually sipping his drink.
A massive tremor suddenly rattled the entire facility.
For the first time in centuries, his relaxed expression vanished.
He stood up immediately.
"This energy…"
Penemue rushed in. "Azazel-sama! We've detected a surge of ancient draconic energy—far beyond anything recorded!"
Azazel's golden eyes sharpened.
"...So it finally happened."
He turned, picking up his communicator.
"Contact Sirzechs, Michael, and anyone else with a brain. The Old Monsters are waking up."
Penemue hesitated. "And Kuroyami?"
Azazel grinned.
"Oh, he'll know. He probably felt it before we did."
Kuroyami's Perspective
Standing at the top of Kuoh Academy, Kuroyami grinned.
That surge of power…
That ancient, primal force…
Something truly massive had awakened.
And he couldn't be more excited.
"Finally," he murmured, his midnight-purple eyes gleaming.
"A real challenge."
