Primrose fell silent for a moment before suddenly bursting into tears again, even louder than before.
"I thought…" she cried between her sobs, "I thought you were really so angry at me that you didn't want to wear our wedding ring anymore…"
Seeing her cry like that immediately made Edmund panic. He quickly stood up and moved onto the bed beside her.
"No, of course not," he said right away. "I would never take off my wedding ring for a reason like that."
His voice sounded firm, almost desperate to make her understand. "Even if we have a small fight, I still wouldn't take it off."
Primrose looked at him with watery eyes. "So… you only take it off when your hands get dirty, right?" she asked weakly.
Edmund nodded quickly without hesitation. "Yes. That's the only reason." He gently squeezed her hands. "I only take off our wedding ring when my hands get dirty, that's all."
