Chapter 386 – Eight Seconds

"Ahhh!"

Grabbing a weapon, the man who was with the group that had been attacking Jack's group let out a loud roar, as if it were a declaration of war, and charged toward the red-eyed walkers that were right in front of him.

His name was Frank, and he was the leader of the men who were now facing all the walkers. For him and everyone else, it was a surprise that the group they had been attacking with their weapons until now stopped the moment the walkers appeared.

The walkers were fast, clearly surpassing all those they had faced before, but taking experience into account, very few of them were afraid.

Boom!

With the butt of his rifle, Frank knocked down a walker that had gotten close enough to bite him. But at that moment another walker reached his side, and gripping his rifle tightly, Frank smashed the walker from one side to the other.

Frank, holding a weapon, was like an unstoppable warrior, knocking down every walker that came near him.

Although the other soldiers who followed him closely were somewhat surprised by Frank's state, all of them quickly regained their senses, knowing that hitting walkers this way would not cause fatal damage except to block their attacks, so they followed closely with daggers and pistols, crushing the walkers' heads on the ground.

Bang Bang Bang! Bang Bang Bang!

Boom!

But just when everyone thought that eliminating the walkers would not be a big problem for them, a heavy blow made the ground tremble. This dull impact that suddenly shook the place confused everyone, and that included the walkers as well.

Everyone had stopped!

"Ahhhh!"

At this moment, just as everyone was analyzing what was happening before their eyes, a scream came from afar and a human figure went flying and crashed into a car.

Frank, who had just finished fiercely crushing a walker's head, turned his gaze to look at the figure that had impacted a few seconds ago not far from his position.

When his eyes focused on that man, he discovered that his body was shattered and every part of it was bleeding profusely. A broken neck, wounds in his abdomen where his intestines were spilling out—those wounds were something not even a walker could make so cleanly.

"Oh my God!"

"I can't believe it!"

Frank, who was not very far from the group, stared at two enormous walkers. Their huge deformed bodies and those massive claws along with their swollen frames were something he had never seen before.

Stunned and filled with confusion, he looked at the weapon in his hands, which he had been using to kill walkers all this time, thinking that it would not be able to help him eliminate walkers that big. Like any other living being, he simply felt small and weak.

But then he remembered the situation he was in and knew that all of this was his fault. He looked at the people in the building where his enemies were hiding and clenched his teeth in fury.

"Bastards!"

Just as he was about to give the order to retreat, he saw a man continuously firing bursts at the walkers who had stopped moments ago. That man's face was hidden beneath a gas mask, and every part of his body was covered in advanced combat gear.

Bang Bang Bang!

As if his enemies did not exist, that man kept firing at the walkers, and it was then that everyone reacted and began shooting at the same time. In a few seconds, the situation shifted in a different direction.

All the humans abandoned their indifference and faced a common enemy, the walkers.

"Attack those damn rotten monsters!"

Bang Bang Bang!

The bullets immediately resounded, resuming the sounds from all directions, but now there was no clash between humans, only humans against the living dead.

"Frank! Watch out behind you!" But a shout pulled Frank out of his combat frenzy, and when he looked forward again, he saw that one of the special-class walkers had begun to move.

The enormous body of the first special-class walker was not slow at all. When bullets struck the body of that large infected, there was nothing but losses.

"Everyone fall back!" Although Frank had ordered an attack, the bullets on his side had also begun to run low, and his rifle still needed a magazine change, so he could not quickly kill all the walkers that had reached his side.

Roar—!

Soon, the walkers that had been knocked to the ground stood back up. Although their numbers had been greatly reduced, after all they did not know fear, so even if their bodies were torn apart, they got up and ran toward the humans.

"Huh… huh…"

Looking at the walker that was running wildly toward him and then at that giant monster that had killed all his people, Frank panted heavily and, with one hand braced against a car, without the slightest panic in his eyes, dodged to the side at the moment a walker rushed at him, then readied a knife to eliminate his enemies.

"We'll take it down!"

Bang Bang Bang!

Immediately after, the giant walker charged toward the people approaching it and, with its massive arm, grabbed the head of an armed man.

Squelch!

The armed man's head was like a watermelon that had been squeezed and burst open, and the helmet covering his head was completely crushed.

With the sound of the long knife falling to the ground, the armed man's arms dropped weakly, and there was no sound, dying within a few seconds.

Roar!

As soon as it got rid of its prey, the giant walker threw the corpse aside and let out a roar, then continued advancing—but at that moment, the roar of an engine was heard in the distance.
