S.C.T. Community
Central operations base in Atlanta.
Training fields one hour ago.
"We are the S.C.T., humanity fell but we remain strong!"
"Shout the name out loud, we are the S.C.T.!"
"We are the S.C.T.!"
"Our commander Jason expects soldiers, and that is what you will become, soldiers willing to die even if facing imminent death. I don't want you to cry, I don't want you to run, what I need are soldiers."
"We are soldiers, sir!"
Among the crowd of soldiers, specifically the 5th training battalion with one thousand members, there was a young man who stood out from the rest and openly shouted that he was a soldier in front of everyone. The trainer, who had stopped, fixed his eyes on that boy.
"What is your name, cadet!"
Being stared at by the bald trainer, the cadet who had spoken a moment ago shouted: "My name is Issac, sir!"
"Very well Issac, tell me, from what damn dumpster did you crawl out of?"
Issac looked at the trainer without any anger in his eyes and shouted: "I was one of the first survivors in Atlanta, I helped the organization create strong walls and clean the place of walkers, sir!"
When everyone heard this, they were surprised to know that Issac had joined the base when it was just being built. Many of those here had arrived from Georgia or the central base. And when the trainer learned this, he looked at Issac with a smile and said: "Then now you're a soldier, I already want to see how far your will goes."
"Sir, yes sir!" Issac gave a military salute and then the training resumed.
…
In the distance, Sam and Elias were having a very close conversation while watching the soldiers train: "Have you seen the video?"
When Elias heard that question, he sighed deeply and spoke in a surprised voice: "I still can't believe how that thing managed to evolve, no, I am even more surprised at how Jason was able to kill it by himself."
"It was an unknown enemy, he ended up gravely wounded when sacrificing his safety to disable the right arm of that giant infected. I wouldn't have done the same and I think the result should have been different, what, more than one magazine to that monster's head?"
Sam Valdez couldn't believe what he received a few days ago in the report. Jason had prepared a detailed report on his operation in South Carolina and at the same time sent the video from his body camera so his people would be informed of a new monster.
The details for facing it were few, but if there was something to be certain of, it was that bullets, even if effective, would have required anti-armor caliber to pierce the muscles and damage the enemy.
But Jason wasn't exploring with an elite team, but with survivors who were good enough but not perfect for this situation. Therefore, the result wasn't as good as expected.
Then the conversation went in a completely different direction, where they talked about the places the organization had taken: "We have taken around 50% of Alabama, there is a total of ten thousand deployed targets and casualties are minimal, but we must take a pause to push the walkers away into the area we prepared."
Elias was the one with complete command over Georgia, and although the place was fully taken in terms of walker-free and clean, not the entire place was taken and not controlled. The checkpoints were not to face the enemy, but to keep the surroundings of the base's main domain under surveillance.
With this in mind, although there are main checkpoints, some points are only there for surveillance and nothing more. It is clear that the place is gigantic and that is because most have died, now the living are fewer than the dead, so there are places that will not be occupied by Jason's people.
"This platoon is good, exceptional soldiers will come out of this place." Sam signaled Elias to follow him to the meeting.
Elias gave one last look at the cadets in the distance and agreed, now more than ever they appreciated the soldiers who were there for better or worse. "The meeting is going to be complete chaos."
"Yes, it seems we will have to make an effort so they don't panic, at least we have a video where it is eliminated by our commander, in this way at least they will think that this new infected is not invincible."
"Our boss is invincible…"
"Hahaha!"
…
Conference room.
"Alright, according to the reports, what we are about to see will change many of the ideas we have had about the infected!"
In the conference room were the superior captains of the soldiers, research fields, and even field workers such as police or outer guards. They all saw with their own eyes the video that was playing on the monitor.
"What we are seeing is Commander Jason's personal camera, who was exploring South Carolina a few days ago!"
When everyone heard this, they saw that the commander was eliminating many walkers with almost no difficulty. The way he manipulated the weapon was more than professional, he was incredibly skilled.
But everyone saw that suddenly the commander's figure stood still, and from the depths of the room a giant came out.
"What the hell is that thing?"
"A giant infected, on your respective desks you will have a detailed report on this anomaly, it is not common at all but we should take it into account from now on and think of some way to eliminate it with the least amount of losses."
When the meeting ended, everyone was sweating cold after seeing how the commander had eliminated that giant infected.
How was he able to do it alone?
"We are glad the commander wasn't gravely injured, but you must remind him that he cannot expose himself like that. That's what soldiers are for, not a commander." Sam heard a lot in this meeting, and he had no choice but to attend to each one of the anxious people.
