Chapter 295 - Blind Spot (2)

Negan, who was watching him, also showed a smile, but his eyes gave off a strong murderous intent.

At the same time the long-haired man looked at him provocatively, Negan also smiled, then swung the bat in his hand and slammed the wolf's head into the ground once more.

Blood streamed from Negan's bat, and pieces of skin could be seen stuck to the metal fence wrapped around the bat.

The wolves not far away were stunned for a moment, but Nigan kept moving, the bat kept falling and soon smashed the wolf's head to pieces, then he reached out toward the men in the distance.

The other side still had a smile on his face, and he walked toward Negan without hurry.

Seeing this, Negan swung his bat again and mercilessly struck the other two wolves to the ground, finishing their lives in a few dozen blows.

The long-haired man was angry; this man in front of him was far too good at provoking people. Even if he didn't care about the lives of those people on the ground, he did care that they mocked him and didn't take him seriously.

In his eyes, all the people who live here hadn't experienced the end-of-the-world firsthand. He wasn't simply killing people; he had a nobler purpose and wanted these people to return to their natural form in the wild.

This guy dared to provoke him, so now he wanted him to understand the difference between the two ways of living!

"Let me free you!"

He ran quickly toward Negan; the steel knife and the bat in his hands clashed in the air with a metallic sound, the two weapons struck and soon collided.

At the same time, Laim and the others advanced to the side of the community; a dozen people split into four groups and rushed into the house one after another. Soon there were intermittent gunshots and cries of death.

Madison and Maggie reached Pete's house with two others following them. The door looked damaged; someone must have forced the entrance, but what surprised them was that the house was very quiet.

Frowning and signaling behind them, they all entered the house cautiously, searched the entire first floor, found nothing, and all looked toward the stairs. Now the Pete family had either been brutally murdered or were hiding on the second floor.

As if to confirm their conjecture, there was a sudden burst of laughter and crying from the second floor.

They didn't dare stop and tiptoed up the stairs; they knew the wolves had guns, but the other side seemed to prefer using cold weapons.

Upon reaching the second floor, a man leaned his back against the wall and looked around cautiously. They weren't sure how many people were in the room, and there was no guarantee someone wouldn't attack them by surprise.

The voice from the bedroom sounded in their ears, but it was a little indistinct. After they reached the second floor, the voice gradually became clearer.

The strange voice was accompanied by Pete's cries of pain, and Jesse's and the children's screams came immediately from the room.

After a while, the laughter stopped; for some reason, the people inside seemed to be arguing about something. Soon the sound of footsteps was heard, and the direction was just outside the door.

Maggie nervously tightened her gun, ready to fire at any moment. The footsteps of the two wolves barely stopped at the corner of the stairs; at this moment, when they took one more step, they would see Maggie and Madison along with the other two people.

Maggie turned her head toward the others and made a countdown gesture with her hand, and when the signal was given they would all rush to attack, but Madison stopped her and told her to listen first.

"Are you sure you want to risk yourself to save that man?"

"Do you want to die? Have you already forgotten what happened to the group of wolves that was brutally murdered? You heard what those people said — there aren't many people here because they went out."

"Now only a few people remain. When the main force of this place returns, we'll all die!"

"No, it's too dangerous. If they catch us, they'll tie us to a tree and eat us like pigs."

"Damn it, idiot, we'll leave now and no one will catch us."

"Fuck! Fine!"

...

The dispute between the two made the people on the stairs look at each other, and they realized the other side didn't seem monolithic. But the two also revealed a more important piece of news at this moment: these wolves in Alexandria should now be the last group of people.

Maggie leaned toward the bedroom door. There were four rooms on the second floor, and these people were currently in the innermost bedroom. To their luck, the bedroom door wasn't closed; it left a gap.

As soon as Maggie arrived, she observed the situation in the room through the gap. There were four members of Pete's family kneeling in the corner of the room.

At this moment, all of them were terrified. As the man of the family, Pete was even more miserable. His nose was broken and his face swollen; they must have beaten him a lot.

But because of their position, they couldn't see all the intruders, only two, but Maggie was sure there were at least three.

She noticed the other side held a gun in hand and silently thanked herself for being cautious. Maggie was about to stand up, but she was drawn again to the conversation in the room.

"Hey, hey, choose, boy — do you want to die or live?"

"I just—"

Crack!

Seeing the hesitation, the man who seemed to control the wolves slapped Pete, who appeared to have completely had his psychological defense broken.

He immediately began to cry.

But the person just now continued to ask.

"Hurry up! I'll give you five seconds!"

"Five, four, three..."

"Okay, okay! Don't kill me, I promise you all! It's not just a woman, I'll tell you, as long as you let me live, I...!"

"Ahhhh."

Maggie's eyes widened in shock as she watched that man cut Pete's throat. Before dying, his eyes were filled with bewilderment, anger and unwillingness...

The other side was obviously mocking him; in terms of purpose, it must have been to see the desperate eyes of his wife and children.

Sighing, Maggie stretched her fingers and signaled in several directions. Madison and the other two team members nodded.

Bang!

The door suddenly opened and the weapons of the four people fired almost simultaneously. As expected, there were three wolves in the room. The sudden change made them turn their heads and they were struck by the bullets.

After taking out the three wolves, Madison stepped forward and held out a hand to Jesse.

"Are you okay?"

"My condolences."

"..."

"Listen, Jesse, we have to get out of here immediately. If you don't want your children to be in danger, follow us. Do you understand?"

Hearing those words, Jesse, who had shown no reaction at first, finally nodded. His eyes gradually focused and he finally stood up slowly. Looking at the two children by his side, he knelt down and said to them,

"Kids, hold each other's hands and get out of the room; Maggie and I need to talk, okay?"

"Yes, Mom."

Looking at the two children, Maggie felt something strange. It made sense that when the father died in front of them, wouldn't the two children be very sad? Why did it seem they felt nothing?

Just as she was puzzled, Jesse stood up and looked at him. There was no sadness on his face like someone who had lost a husband; some even seemed relieved.

"Do you have a knife?"

"Yes, why?"

"I'm going to give this bastard a few stabs!"
