Yeah, both of them were pretty much in their depressed states. It didn't help the fact that the guards were closing in as well. Before long, they were completely surrounded, and the thought of breaking through them and trying to just prestige was also not a very good idea.
After all, Rael was sure he could most likely do it by himself, since he could teleport now and use mana. But then again, Rael knew just how powerful these guards really were.

It would be a very big gamble, and the result of his gamble would be Renoir's death. Rael didn't want Renoir to die, or even worse, be enslaved by some shit person a little higher on this floor.
In short, the two of them needed to cooperate for the time being.
