Chapter 179 - 181Chapter : An unexpected event

The observation point in Greenhouse No. 3 was actually just a high ground overlooking most of the greenhouse. On the high ground lay three stone slabs carved with magic runes, and blue light occasionally flowed above the runes.

"There are viewing spells on those stone slabs. You can observe things in the distance after standing on them. Please keep order and go up one by one to take a look. Those who have not yet had their turn can move freely on this platform for a while." Professor Ferdinand said to everyone while standing in front of them.

So everyone decided to draw lots to arrange the order, and Ryan was lucky enough to be the first one to look at the stone slab. Standing on the stone slab, he found that although the stone slab was carved in a simple style, it was much simpler to operate than those binoculars.

As soon as you step on it, you'll see a screen appear in the air, displaying a distant scene that changes position as your eyes turn. At the same time, you can easily zoom in and out by waving your arms, much like the holographic images in science fiction movies.

It seems that magic is not much worse than technology. Since nothing happened along the way, Ryan relaxed a little and began to observe these usually rare plants.

The greenhouse was meticulously designed, allowing the plants and animals within to form a miniature ecosystem. Through the magic on the stone slabs, Ryan could see creepers slinking stealthily beneath the shade, and fairies gathering edible nectar and petals from the flowers. Ryan constantly shifted his perspective, hoping to see more things he could barely see outside.

However, when he turned to a patch of silverleaf Bidens pilosa, he saw something that made Ryan shudder. A pair of footprints appeared on the Bidens pilosa, and when he zoomed in, he could see that the Bidens pilosa was slowly standing up again. This meant that the person who left the footprints had probably left there just tens of seconds ago.

Could there be an ambush? Ryan's first reaction was to observe the area around the clump of Bidens pilosa. Sure enough, he noticed some of the leaves swaying unnaturally, but he couldn't see any human figures. He could only roughly infer from the changes in the plants that an invisible person was slowly approaching the observation point.

Someone sneaking up on them in this situation really didn't seem like a good person. Ryan remembered the principal's warning yesterday. But this was clearly inside the school, so how did they get in?

But it was useless to think too much now, because it was impossible for there to be only one attacker in this situation. However, seeing that the distance between this attacker and the observation point was getting closer and closer, it was too late to find all the other attackers before they suddenly attacked.

According to previous combat experience, the only way to survive in this situation is to disrupt the enemy's deployment. Thinking of this, Ryan made a quick decision and ran down from the stone slab, then ran to the railing, drew out his wand, pointed it at the approximate position of the invisible man, drew a rune, activated life and nature magic, and cast a detection spell directly over.

Sure enough, there was someone hiding in that area. 35xs He had originally wanted to use his invisibility to get closer to Ryan and the others, but neither the Disillusionment Charm nor the Invisibility Cloak could hide him in this kind of active magical detection. The moment Ryan's detection spell touched him, he knew he had been exposed.

Obviously, the other side hadn't expected someone to suddenly go crazy and use detection magic on an empty space, so they paused for a moment. However, those who had sneaked into the school and participated in the attack were all veterans, and they quickly cast a blood-red spell at Ryan on the stage.

Fortunately, the attacker paused for a moment, allowing Ryan to successfully release a thunder attack under the cover of his magic wand.

"Wind and Thunder Break." Following Ryan's spell, a purple ball of lightning flew towards the attacker. The attacker was a little slow in casting the spell, and because he saw that Ryan was a junior, he had let down his guard and did not dodge the magic.

When the thunder ball hit him, a blood-colored barrier appeared on his body, but soon the barrier shattered and the thunder ball hit him hard.

This lightning ball knocked the attacker out of his invisible state, and he fell to the ground with convulsions. At the same time, Ryan dodged to the side while launching the lightning ball, easily avoiding the bloody curse.

The series of exchanges took only seven or eight seconds, so no one reacted until it was over. Professor Sprout seemed prepared. She shouted, "Everyone, move towards me now. Reinforcements are coming soon." Then, with her left hand, she pulled a handful of seeds from the cloth pocket at her waist and scattered them on the ground.

The seeds took root and soon formed a green barrier around the platform. The barrier was barely halfway up when several spells struck it. Fortunately, the barrier only shook, not breaking.

Looking in the direction of the magic just launched, more than a dozen wizards emerged from their invisible state. Half of them were wearing blood-red robes, while the other half were wearing a variety of clothes.

Was this a joint attack by the Blood God Cult and the Chimera Society? But where were the reinforcements that Principal Fernando had promised? He had previously said he would lure these people out and then annihilate them in one fell swoop. They had been lured out, but where were they?

As Ryan was pondering this question, several holes suddenly appeared on the cave ceiling. Ryan saw Principal Fernando and the former Saint Skorzeny descend from the sky with a dozen people, landing around the attacker before the attacker could react.

As soon as he landed, Skorzeny aimed a silver spell at the leader of the attackers, a small man in a gorgeous magic robe, and shouted provocatively, "Hey, Dietrich. Are you finally willing to crawl out of the rat hole with your men?"

"Ha, it's been so long since we last met. What other tricks do you have besides your powerful words? My little pet really misses the taste of you guys." Dietrich waved his wand to block the spell shot at him, then raised his wand and shouted, "Come out, my little cuties. Let them have a taste of your power."

As the shouts rang out, the ground suddenly shook, and seven or eight monsters emerged from the ground. Each one bore traces of patchwork. There was a giant ape with six arms, a spider with three fire-breathing dog heads, and the most outrageous was a basketball-court-sized chimera. As soon as it emerged, its three heads spewed ice, fire, and poison gas, attacking Principal Fernando and his men.

However, Principal Fernando and the helpers he brought were all very powerful. Soon, colorful lights spurted out from the tips of their wands, and they fought on equal terms with the monsters and attackers.

Naturally, in this situation, the amount of magic fired at Ryan and the others decreased significantly, and everyone under the protection of Professor Sprout could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

But now there was an important question: how on earth had so many monsters and attackers been transported into the school? The more Ryan thought about it, the more he felt something was wrong. A voice in his heart told him that an enemy who could cause such a large-scale incident must have a backup plan. It couldn't be just a simple ambush.
