After stepping out of the observation room, Adam confronted Evan.
"Mr. Evan, what exactly is your relationship with my son, Aryan?"
Evan froze for a moment. Right now, he didn't even know what to say. Brother? Lover? Friend…? What was he to Aryan now?
"I—I… that…"
"Uncle—"
As if saving him from that question, Marco arrived. His breath hitched.
"How's Aryan?" he asked anxiously.
"Marco…" Seeing his worried expression, Adam kept his voice steady. "Don't worry. He's out of danger now. The doctors have moved him to the observation ward. If everything goes well in the next 24 hours, they'll shift him to a regular room."
"Can I see him?" Marco asked quickly. He just needed to see Aryan's face—to know he was truly safe.
"Let's ask the duty doctor," Adam replied.
Marco immediately requested permission, and after a brief conversation, the doctor allowed him a short visit.
