Liam tried to speak, but the words refused to come.
He had stared at the woman for what felt like an eternity, yet only a few seconds had actually passed. Something about her was pulling at a part of him that he didn't understand. His mind kept searching through memories, trying to find where he had seen that face before, where he had heard that voice, where he had felt this strange familiarity that seemed to reach deeper than his current life. It wasn't simply that she looked familiar. It was the feeling of knowing her without knowing how he knew her. It was as though some forgotten part of himself recognized her before his conscious mind could.
Finally, he managed to speak.
"I… I know you."
The words came out quietly.
Everyone turned toward him.
Tatiana's eyebrows lifted.
Leonid stared at him.
Irina's expression became almost comically confused.
Gregor looked at Liam as though he had suddenly lost his mind.
The silent looks between them practically said the same thing.
