"This place… is this some kind of heart chamber?" Kailen's eyes flashed with terror.
"The widening of the walls could mean blood is coming here. The reddish substance that killed these guys is not digestive juices, but blood. I don't know how correct my theory is. I could be wrong. But it's the best guess I can come up with now. I need to try and find a valve or something I can latch on to."
Kailen quickly scanned his surroundings. The walls were still widening. Where he was seemed to be a dead end; there was no way he could retreat further.
"Assuming this is a dead end, this could be a ventricle. That means the only way to avoid coming into contact with the blood is forward."
He looked ahead. As the walls were widening, he saw a way ahead of him—an open path that didn't exist previously. It stretched forward infinitely, narrowing into darkness.
