Chapter 117 - 117

It became their slow luxury day on Palm Jumeirah.

They woke up late and had breakfast at the residence.

After that, there was no schedule.

Some of them went swimming while others relaxed beside the pool. The children spent hours playing in the water, while the adults enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

Later, they went to the beach.

The warm sand, clear blue water and view of the Arabian Gulf made it difficult to believe that only a few days earlier they had been surrounded by the noise and traffic of Mumbai.

The women spent some time at the spa while the others relaxed by the pool.

Lunch was long and unhurried.

In the afternoon, everyone returned to the beach.

By sunset, they were sitting together watching the sky change colour over the water.

Akshata quietly looked around.

Palm Jumeirah had been one of those places she had only imagined seeing in her previous life.

Now she was actually sitting there with her family.

And for once, she didn't think about business, games, money or the future.

She simply enjoyed the moment.

The remaining days were filled with a mixture of sightseeing and shopping.

They explored different parts of Dubai, visited the traditional markets, walked through the Gold Souk and Spice Souk, and experienced the older side of the city.

They also spent time shopping in Dubai's huge malls.

There were clothes, watches, jewellery, perfumes and countless other things that caught their attention.

Of course, the family had to visit Burj Khalifa.

Since the tower had only recently opened in 2010, seeing it in person felt extraordinary.

Standing high above Dubai, they could see the city stretching into the distance.

From that height, the Palm Jumeirah looked almost like a carefully designed piece of art.

They took plenty of photographs.

They also spent another day enjoying Atlantis and its attractions, making up for the fact that they had missed the resort during their earlier Dubai trip.

By the end of the holiday, everyone had accumulated countless memories.

There had been no need to rush.

They had enjoyed the beach.

The desert.

The Marina.

The shopping.

The restaurants.

The resort.

The spa.

And, most importantly, their time together.

---

On their final evening, the family had dinner together at the residence.

Suitcases were already packed.

The children were tired but happy.

Everyone was reluctant to leave.

The next morning, they checked out and headed toward Dubai International Airport.

As the cars drove away from Palm Jumeirah, Akshata looked through the window.

The familiar view of the Palm slowly disappeared behind them.

Ten days earlier, they had arrived excited to explore Dubai.

Now they were leaving with memories that would stay with them for years.

At the airport, they completed the formalities and boarded their flight back to Mumbai.

As the aircraft took off, Akshata looked out of the window one last time.

Dubai's lights slowly became smaller beneath them.

She smiled.

The trip had been exactly what they had wanted.

Not just a vacation.

It had been ten days of luxury, laughter, family time and unforgettable experiences.

And now, it was time to go home.

Time continued to move forward, and before they realized it, another year had passed.

For her, it was another year of school, but life outside the classroom was becoming just as busy. She continued her education while also taking on more work in the fashion world. Over the course of the year, she participated in several more runway shows and worked on a number of campaigns.

She was slowly becoming more experienced and confident, learning how to balance school, work and the responsibilities that came with both.

Her brother's life was also beginning to take a different direction.

He started receiving professional football coaching and eventually joined a structured training program. It was an option Akshatha herself had strongly supported.

As his sister, she knew him well.

She also knew how easily he could become lazy when he had too much free time.

Football, she believed, could give him something he needed—discipline.

A proper training schedule would require him to wake up on time, work consistently, maintain his fitness and take responsibility for his progress. If he genuinely wanted a future in sports, he would have to learn to stay committed.

Akshatha hoped the sport would not only develop his talent but also shape his character.

Meanwhile, her younger cousins were beginning their own journeys.

With the encouragement and support of their parents, they made their television debuts. It was an exciting new chapter for them, and the entire family was proud to watch them take their first steps into the entertainment industry.

Her elder cousins were moving forward in a different direction. They had completed another year of their education overseas, continuing to build their own futures away from home.

Her father's entertainment business was also doing well.

The family was busy in different ways, with everyone slowly moving toward their own goals.

And just like that, another year passed.

For Akshatha, however, this year carried a much greater significance.

She was approaching eighteen.

Legally, eighteen would mean something important: she would be recognized as an adult and would have far greater control over her own decisions and affairs.

It was something she had been looking forward to for a long time.

She wanted to take charge of her own life.

She didn't want to remain dependent on others forever. She wanted the freedom to make her own decisions, manage her own affairs and build something that belonged entirely to her.

She had already earned a substantial amount of money through her gaming activities—more than five million—and she was determined to use that financial foundation carefully.

Once she turned eighteen, one of her biggest ambitions was to establish her own company.

Not a family company.

Not something controlled by someone else.

Her own company.

She wanted to build something that belonged completely to her and over which she could ultimately have full control.

There was another secret she had been quietly holding onto.

When Bitcoin was still in its early days, she had begun mining it.

She had never made a big announcement about it.

She deliberately kept it private.

At the time, almost nobody around her could have known what Bitcoin might eventually become. To everyone else, it was simply something obscure and uncertain.

But Akshatha had a different feeling about it.

She believed that one day it could become something much bigger.

Still, she understood that having money and having power were two different things.

Even though she had already earned millions, she was not yet in a position where she could completely protect herself or make every decision independently.

If something went wrong, she didn't yet have the legal independence or authority to handle everything on her own.

That was why she kept thinking about the same milestone.

Eighteen.

Once she reached that age, she could finally begin putting her plans into action.

She wanted financial independence.

She wanted control over what she had earned.

She wanted to build her own company.

And most importantly, she wanted the ability to stand on her own feet.

For now, she remained patient.

She continued school.

She continued working.

She watched her brother develop through football, her younger cousins begin their television careers, her elder cousins continue their education overseas and her father's business grow.

Everyone was moving forward.

And so was she.

The difference was that Akshatha already had a plan for the life she wanted after eighteen.

She just had to wait a little longer.

Her eighteenth birthday was approaching.

And with it came the possibility of finally taking her life into her own hands.
