Chapter 891 - Babidi's Death

Vegeta knew the ugly, dim-witted creature in front of him was powerful. The punch came straight at his face — no technique, no flourish, just raw aggression. He raised his arm to block on instinct, already mapping out the next dozen moves in his head: deflect, capitalize, launch a sustained offensive.

The moment his arm made contact, he knew he'd miscalculated. The force behind that fist was simply incomprehensible. His Super Saiyan 2 guard shattered like it was made of paper, and Majin Buu's punch connected square with his chest, sending him rocketing backward like a cannonball — hundreds of meters in an instant. It was Son Goku, using Instant Transmission, who caught him.

"Back off! I don't need your help!" Vegeta roared, shoving Son Goku away with furious pride.

What was the world coming to? Since when did every piece of garbage in existence think it could take a swing at the Prince of all Saiyans?

Where had this fat thing even come from? Was it another Android made by some Earth scientist? Had Earth always been this terrifying?

He surged forward again, golden ki blazing behind him. Three moves. That was all it took before Majin Buu — as if he were playing a game — met him head-on with another straight punch, smashing Vegeta full in the face. Blood poured freely; his nose cracked clean across the bridge. Majin Buu doubled over laughing, delighted with himself, as though he'd just done something enormously entertaining.

"You piece of filth — you dare look down on me?!" Vegeta hurled himself into the sky, pouring a massive surge of ki into his hands without any regard for stamina. He unleashed a relentless storm of energy balls directly at Buu.

The continuous explosions rocked the venue. Only then did the spectators in the stands truly grasp that none of this was a film shoot. Panic swept through the crowd like a tide. Despite the organizing committee staff trying desperately to calm everyone down, the vast majority of people had already made their decision: run.

What was a Martial Arts Tournament worth compared to their own lives? Time to go.

"Should we also...?" Oolong glanced nervously at the others beside him. Puar and Turtle were already nodding their heads vigorously.

Piccolo dropped down in front of the group. "It's dangerous here. Get moving — now."

Himawari looked over at Kale. The younger girl was visibly itching for a fight, eyes bright, fists flexing at her sides.

Kale shook her head hard. "Dad won't allow it."

Mentioning her father took some of the wind out of Himawari's sails. She desperately wanted to fuse with Kale and go pound that fat creature into the ground — but Kale wasn't wrong. Charging in without knowing anything about the enemy was a cardinal sin for any ninja. She swallowed her eagerness.

They grabbed Videl and followed the Earth warriors' family-and-friends group, evacuating the area as quickly as they could.

Vegeta had been hammering away for over a minute straight. His ki had visibly depleted by a significant margin; his stamina was draining at an alarming rate, and even the duration of his Super Saiyan 2 transformation was beginning to shorten. He was slightly out of breath.

He narrowed his eyes and peered down through the settling dust and smoke over the ring.

"How...?"

Majin Buu stood exactly where he had been — not a scratch on him — and offered Vegeta a smile that carried just a hint of mockery.

"Here — for you!" In that short minute, Majin Buu had listened to the ordinary people fleeing around him and, somehow, acquired a working grasp of Earth's language. He had also, apparently, picked up Vegeta's technique.

The exact same number of energy balls, the exact same size, flew from Majin Buu's hands — a dense, driving downpour that swallowed Vegeta whole.

Son Goku let out a shout and fired a Kamehameha Wave from the side. The pale-blue column of light punched a gaping hole clean through Majin Buu's body. A flicker of pain crossed the Majin's face — then both arms shook once, and the wound simply closed over, as if it had never existed.

"That... actually hurt a little!"

Majin Buu suddenly accelerated. One headbutt, and Son Goku went flying.

"You hit my dad?!" Son Gohan abandoned any pretense of being a student. He threw off his disguise, transformed into Super Saiyan 2, and charged forward with furious intent.

Piccolo tossed a Senzu Bean to the badly battered Vegeta, then rushed to support Gohan.

"Let's all go at once! I have a feeling this guy isn't as simple as he looks on the surface. Deep down..." Son Goku had always trusted his instincts. "Deep down, he's hiding something enormous — a malice I can't quite place."

The Son family — father and son — together with Vegeta and Piccolo. Earth's four greatest fighters closed in on Majin Buu from all sides.

They fought from the ground into the sky, and then back down from the sky to the ground again.

No matter how the Earth warriors coordinated, no matter how hard they pushed their combined attack power, Majin Buu maintained the same leisurely, playful attitude throughout — casually handling all four of them at once and, in the process, absorbing their fighting techniques and moves as easily as breathing.

Up in the stands, watching Majin Buu display his overwhelming power, the wizard Babidi was practically dancing on the spot with excitement.

The large number of civilians still on the grounds were trying to flee. He smiled at them with cold, pitiless cruelty and raised both hands high.

"None of you are going anywhere! You worthless, insignificant lives — become offerings to celebrate the Majin's awakening! Ha ha ha ha!"

A strange pulse of energy washed over the entire Martial Arts Tournament venue and the two city blocks surrounding it. An invisible wall of air materialized out of nothing, sealing the inside from the outside. Yamcha let out a furious roar and drove his palm into the wall — the surface rippled like disturbed water but showed not even the faintest crack. The rebound force flung him several meters backward.

"It's solid! What the hell is this thing?"

He attacked again. Tien Shinhan and Krillin joined in. None of them could shake the wall in the slightest.

"That guy over there must be behind this." Himawari's eyes were sharp as ever. She spotted him instantly — the figure in black robes and a black hood, standing conveniently outside his own barrier: Babidi.

Kale looked at her sister.

"That person is definitely the one pulling the strings," Himawari said. "Here's the plan: you break through the wall, and I'll go probe him."

"Got it!"

Kale shifted into her green-haired Legendary Super Saiyan 2 state in an instant. The savage, explosive aura that erupted from her in that single moment made Babidi flinch and stare sideways. What was going on? Was this an Earthling? That killing intent — it felt more like a Demon King than anything he'd ever encountered in the Dark Demon Realm!

Babidi's magic was genuinely formidable. To channel such vast magical power through such a frail body — any observer would call him a genius without hesitation. But everything in existence has its limits. He could stop Yamcha, but he could not stop a Legendary Super Saiyan.

Kale didn't think. She threw a single punch into the barrier.

The entire magical construct shuddered — along with the ground beneath it, the surrounding buildings, and every person standing nearby — rattled by the sheer force behind that blow. Cracks spiderwebbed across the invisible wall, dense enough that even ordinary people could see them. Babidi's eyes went wide with alarm; he frantically poured more magical power into the barrier to reinforce it — but he was already half a step too slow.

Kale's second punch shattered the wall completely.

Himawari was right behind her.

"Shared Death: Ash and Bone!" The young girl had learned this technique from Kaguya. The moment her Rinnegan registered that the air barrier was broken, before the wizard could even begin to repair it, she flicked her wrist — and a jet-black bone spike flew through the air without a sound.

Babidi stared blankly at the spike embedded in his lower abdomen, jutting out like a dagger. His expression was one of pure, disbelieving stupefaction. His body had already begun to dissolve.

"Majin Buu — come save me!" His voice was barely a whisper. He was far too distant; the words never reached their target.

And even if they had, it wouldn't have mattered. Majin Buu didn't know who he was. Save you? Who even are you?

Babidi stretched out one trembling hand toward nothing. In less than five seconds — not even five — he had disintegrated into a heap of drifting ash.

With the caster dead, the air barrier vanished. The ordinary people trapped inside had no idea what had just happened — and they didn't stop to find out. They ran.
