Chapter 796 - The Final Push: Adelasta's Capabilities

Watching Adelasta fight back there just reminded me of something people keep getting wrong about her. She doesn't look like a fighter. If anything, she looks like the type who'd sit on a throne, cross her legs and let everyone else handle the violence for her while she judges them silently. But what people don't understand is that behind that calm exterior is someone who is genuinely terrifying in a fight.

And I mean that literally.

Adelasta wasn't born into power the way most people in Spheraphase are. She had no bloodline advantage, no inherited Tethers or natural affinity tied to some prestigious lineage. She was raceless with no Viaca bloodline from her father or Omniscient inheritance from the Vazakiel side. She was basically nothing, at least by the standards of this world. And in Spheraphase, that kind of start usually decides your ceiling before you even begin.

But she broke that. Or more accurately, something forced that break in two ways.

When she ascended back in Erna Isles, it wasn't normal. It wasn't even explainable by standard systems. She didn't just become a Divine. She was turned into a Royal Aeterium and to this day, even we don't fully understand what exactly triggered that. The most consistent theory we've got is that it was a Universal Law stepping in, overriding whatever she originally was and rewriting her existence entirely. The moment that happened, everything about her changed.

Before that, she had no Pinnacle or Base Tether but after that transformation, she gained the Aeterium Base Tethers like she was born with them. But even before all of that, she was already dangerous.

Adelasta fights using Weapon Mastery, just like Veneri, but her style is completely different. Where he's versatile and adaptive, she's precise and lethal. Her technique, the Viaca Technique, comes from her father, Landle Viaca, who might be known as the greatest forger in Spheraphase, but people forget he's also part of a lineage that specializes in assassination. He never fully mastered it himself because his focus shifted to forging, but Adelasta perfected it.

Daggers are her weapon of choice, which already tells everything about her combat philosophy. At some point, she switched from standard daggers to crescent-shaped ones, the ones Veneri made for her himself. Back then, it was just sapphire, but now that we know it's actually Creation's Defiance, it makes way more sense why those weapons feel so absurd in her hands. But what really makes her terrifying isn't just her technique.

It's her cores.

Most people cap out at two at the Divine Rank and three when they become a First Star Mage. Adelasta has four.

She has the standard Ascender Core, which every Spheraphasian gets when they break into Ascension, and then the Divine Core that comes with becoming a Divine being. That's already the baseline for someone powerful. Then there's her Flame Mage pseudo-core, which she developed on her own path as a mage, long before everything else escalated. That alone would've been enough to make her a high-tier combatant.

But then comes the part that changes everything. She has the God Core.

It originally came from Stephos, taken during that insane confrontation involving Veneri's mother. It was passed down to Veneri and then somehow, through whatever decision-making process only he understands, it ended up with Adelasta. She didn't just keep it. She used it on herself and that's what gave birth to her Divine Flames. When she became a Divine, that connection evolved into something even more ridiculous.

She became a Split of Existence. This basically means her flames don't just burn things physically. They attack existence itself on a conceptual level, though right now, it's limited to the flames themselves. Her Existence Divinity isn't something she can project independently yet. That's probably because she hasn't reached that level of control.

Once she becomes a Deity, that limitation will definitely disappear.

And then there's the fact that she went through Reversal Ascension, just like Veneri. That alone is already something most beings wouldn't survive, but the only reason she made it through was because she was linked to him. Their connection literally kept her alive while her entire existence was being rewritten. I opened her System Profile as I watched her fight.

She's good.

The moment Adelasta brought her daggers up, she got serious. Honestly, the name she gave them still got me every time. Lover's Gift? Really?

Anyway, the crescent shaped blades were coated with crimson flames. She vanished into motion and the instant her daggers met the Sixth Enlightenment robot, something unexpected happened.

The body divided cleanly down the center, not from her strike, but from its own response. The nanomachines it had created a second identical unit that landed opposite her with the exact same presence and power. Adelasta didn't even blink.

"Of course it does that. I'll take that one."

He didn't answer. Veneri was already gone.

Her target reacted instantly with its arms morphing into elongated blades. The moment she entered its range, it struck. It was ridiculously fast but her eyes were faster.

Her Mystic Eyes of Perception lit up. The world around her slowed down just enough for her to read every movement in its stance.Instead of meeting the attack head-on, she slipped through it. The blade passed her neck by less than a centimeter and her counter came instantly.

Both daggers flashed forward and she struck three times in less than a second, targeting weak points that only someone with her level of perception could even identify mid-combat. Still, the robot didn't falter. Its durability was absurd.

The blades left shallow marks at best. The crimson flames spread across its surface but failed to fully penetrate whatever alloy made up its body. Before she could follow up, it retaliated. The nanomachines flowed like liquid metal, fixing the damage back into a perfect blade as it swung again. She blocked, or at least, tried to.

The clash sent a violent shock through her arms. The force of it drove her back as her armor managed to absorb the impact but even then, the pressure was enough to break her stance. The robot stepped in forming a second blade forming as it aimed straight for her torso. This time she couldn't fully evade it. It tore through her side, slicing past her defenses just enough to draw blood. The force sent her spinning before she slammed into the ground hard enough to fracture it beneath her.

For a moment, she didn't move. Body Reconstruction began to heal her injuries and her Nanorune Armor repaired itself as well. The wound vanished almost instantly but the pain didn't. She pushed herself up, exhaling slowly.

"You're annoying."

The robot didn't respond. It was already moving again. This time, it didn't wait for her to approach.

It closed the distance in a straight line. The ground beneath it cracked from the force of each step and when it reached her, it unleashed a barrage of slashes, forcing her to adapt on the fly.

She couldn't counter all of them so she didn't try to. Her body moved like she was dancing through death itself with each step barely avoiding a fatal hit. She ducked under one swing, twisted past another and drove her blade into its side, forcing it to stagger half a step.

The Viaca Technique was now visible. This time, she was using her Mystic Eyes to increase her perfection and her own physical speed. She was so fast, slicing precise lines across its body. Each strike was infused with compressed flames that tried to burn through its durability from the inside. For a second, it worked but it managed to see through her. Its entire torso shifted as it forced her back with a sudden burst of power. One arm expanded into a heavier blade that slammed into her guard.

This time, her defense broke.

The hit sent her flying again as she crashed across the battlefield. That caused massive damage on the ground. Her chest rose and fell sharply as her Body Reconstruction worked overtime, repairing internal damage that had built up from repeated impacts.

"That's definitely a Sixth Enlightenment. Good."
