Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - The First Diplomacy Attempt

Third person POV

And so, by week 3, day 5, the nation of the Vamzoms, under Basilio's leadership, was now better like an actual, sovereign nation of its own. Thanks to that, Basilio gained a lot of points in his current level and unlocked a new achievement called A Sovereign Nation. Basilio had been keeping track of his progress in his journals, which now had 3 more, alongside a few gel pens in black and blue, bought from the Isekai System Shop for 1 Isekai Platinum Coin each and even bought a new set of clothes, which was a military-style uniform in black with a hint of red and blue, for 10 Platinum Coins (now his balance was at 5,800 Platinum Coins), the currency of the Isekai System Shop, for work and for a professional look in his appearance. He also went on his first diplomacy trip to the capital of Cinjutun in the Kingdom of Pantano by helicopter with Helena, Artem, and a squad of 10 other Vamzom soldiers, including Kyàw, John, and Timru. The big capital city on two rivers and 3 valleys was 101 kilometers west of Ruslav. This city had 3 million people, and the landscape on the valleys had diverse traditional architecture for its urban buildings, 3 streetcars (modern European ones) snaking through the city, 5 flyover bridges over busy streets, and walls around the city guarded by city troops brandishing swords, spears, crossbows, modern firearms, and even RPGs.

The view of it from above in the helicopters were an awespiring one for Basilio, knowing how much the Otherworlders had influenced Pantano so much in its consistent 500-year history. He also looked into Pantano's Assembly of Elders, a parliament-like body composed of nobles across Pantano's 6 regions, of which the Dimwell Dukedom was one of them. These rich nobles had voices of what law to be passed or debating on international trade policies.

Meanwhile, up in the High Pantheon of Deities, the god of tech Haiteku, a young man with grey hair and a black suit and grey necktie, was looking at the coming delegate from Ruslav to Cinjutun's Royal Residence from a mounted flat screen TV. He chuckled at the shift of power in the Forest Vamzoms, thinking how the Demon Sorcerer in the Northern Continent would react to this. And then, Marcko, the god of war in the form of a Spartan warrior, walked in and said to Haiteku, "Haiteku, the Kingdom of Vatrene was at it again at Pantano's Brot-Lyon Region northeast of Cinjutun."

"I know, let's hope Ruslav would help out against Vatrene if the peace treaty between Ruslav and Pantano would continue," Haiteku replied.

Back in the skies above Cinjutun, the Ruslavian delegate's journey took 1 hour in the air, but in the end, the group made it by 10 a.m. At the same time, Ruslav maintained good relations with Fresa de Ard and the Dimwell Dukedom, as Chivo regularly traveled between Ruslav and Fresa de Ard like an unofficial diplomat.

Also, all this time, ever since Chivo became an unofficial diplomat to Ruslan before, Chivo's older sister and niece, who struggled financially, had been relying partially on the food of the Vamzoms to eat 3 decent meals a day. But back at the diplomatic act to Cinjutun, the current king of Pantano, Josiah II of the Fradellio House, was informed of their arrival by some of his palace guards, much to his shock. "What?"

"Yes, and it seemed to be a friendly one," replied one of the reporting guards.

But after Basilio and his entourage entered the palace's throne room, Josiah II and his court and Assembly of Elders were shocked to see that not only that the Vanzoms are now friendly and civilized, but also their new leader was an Otherworlder human without the red eyes of the Vamzoms. Some within the court were skeptical and even suspicious of their motive. But Basilio and his group remained calm. At the same time, Fritzi had been acting secretly as Ruslav's unofficial peacemaker between them and his church organization, the Light Rays Church, which was based in Vatrene, and his church organization didn't know what he was doing in secret. A counterpart of the LRC, the Reformed Light Church, was more friendlier to the Vamzoms, and some priests in Fresa de Ard and Safir rely on Fritzi's intel for the LRC's next moves against the Vamzoms.
