Jon had his own destiny, but he was also the reincarnation of Azor Ahai. Because of this, he could merge with Azor Ahai's destiny without any rejection, allowing himself to become complete.
Daenerys also had her own destiny, yet she was likewise the reincarnation of Nissa Nissa. Therefore, she could merge with Nissa's destiny as the Maiden of Light without any rejection and complete herself. Well, she was already quite complete. Now it simply added further brilliance.
After Jon obtained the Savior's destiny, his cultivation speed advanced by leaps and bounds. In only a few months, he surpassed Kweisi, rising from the number one among the young generation of the western continent to the number one among the young generation of the entire world.
After being overtaken in succession by the Dragon Queen and Jon, two such "bugs," who knew how Kweisi felt about it.
After Daenerys obtained Nissa's destiny, her realm also surged dramatically, though it developed in a somewhat crooked direction.
Her main discipline, the Song of Fire, did not increase its growth speed by much. Instead, she gained an additional side path called the "Song of Light."
The Maiden of Light of the Seven Gods had truly become worthy of the name.
Another heavy "burden" had been placed on her shoulders, and the Dragon Queen could only grit her teeth and persevere.
At the very least, R'hllor had fallen from the status of a true god. By now he was probably hiding somewhere, wailing in misery.
At the very least, she had mastered the ability to convert light and fire into one another, gradually evolving the fire spirits into true miniature suns.
Recently, the cultivators of the Seven Kingdoms had also gradually discovered that low-level Holy Light spells had become brighter than before.
The milky-white firelight had turned into transparent golden radiance resembling sunlight.
Compared with the white glow of the Holy Healing spell, the blazing sun-like radiance dealt far greater damage to the White Walkers.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…"
As night fell, the storm over the sea suddenly grew more violent, and the Princess Elia began to sway heavily with the waves.
"Thud… Ouch!"
Inside the captain's cabin where the Dragon Queen stayed, Jiqi rolled off the wooden bed like a pillar placed on a slope. Her plump body tumbled down with a thud and struck the floor solidly.
"Hiss."
A wisp of flame flew out from Daenerys's palm. In midair it twisted like a ball of yarn, weaving itself into a bright red fireball the size of an egg.
In an instant, ninety-nine percent of the heat radiation from the fireball was converted into light, and the cabin became as bright as day.
"The wind has picked up again?"
The centaur maid was dazzled by the white light. She raised her left hand to shield her eyes while rubbing the two lumps on her chest that had been struck painfully.
"Sigh. Making a living at sea is really difficult. There are storms almost every day, and they come fiercely and suddenly. One careless moment and the ship could be wrecked with everyone aboard. Losing direction or falling behind the fleet happens often too," Jiqi said with emotion.
"You actually have a talent for being a sailor. After all this tossing about, you can still fall asleep the moment you lie down. Illy only stayed one day before she could not endure it anymore," Daenerys said with a smile.
"Hehe. I used to be like Illy and feared seasickness. But I listened to Qiluo and drank water soaked with Big Black's dragon essence every day. My body became strong and never got sick, and I stopped getting seasick.
Back when the sun still existed, I often sailed a yacht to the Slaver's Bay for sea trips," Jiqi said proudly.
Daenerys smiled oddly and said, "I'm planning to build an ironclad dreadnought. Do you want to be its captain? I'll appoint you as an admiral of the navy."
"A dreadnought?" Jiqi pondered for a moment in confusion, then said in surprise, "Khaleesi, do you mean a steam-powered ironclad ship? That's a huge project. Do you have time to build something like that now?"
"When the time comes, I'll leave a mental projection in Astapor and handle multiple things at once," Daenerys said.
"If I become an admiral of the navy, does that mean catching fish at sea every day?" Jiqi asked with some hesitation.
"Ironclads can withstand waves much better. The Grand Turtle Minister and I cannot keep accompanying the fishing fleet forever. Right now we're building a marine fishing base on Hell's Gate Island. If ironclads transport the supplies, it will be both faster and safer," Daenerys said.
"But I want to stay with you. I want to be your maid," Jiqi said, shaking her head.
"No ambition. You refuse to be a naval admiral and want to remain a maid."
"Your Majesty, the Queen…"
Outside the wooden cabin the wind howled wildly, and the voice of the Blackbeard captain, Grolai, could occasionally be heard shouting orders to the sailors. At this moment someone had begun calling for the Dragon Queen.
"Jiqi, go out and take a look. The storm right now doesn't require my presence. Perhaps something else has happened," Daenerys said without moving.
The narrow wooden bed in the captain's cabin had been given to Jiqi. The Dragon Queen sat cross-legged, floating two feet above the ground. Around her body was a circle of gentle pale-green wind. In each hand she held a fireball, and within the center of the flames flickered the struggling shadow of a fire crow.
At this moment, even without using the Fire Ladder technique, she could hover in midair.
When she opened her eyes, Jiqi saw that the Queen's enchanting violet pupils had been completely filled with cyan.
For the instant their gazes met, the centaur maid felt dazed, as if she stood within a boundless expanse of sky and earth. Countless whirlwinds surrounded her, like an ocean made entirely of wind.
"Why are you standing there in a daze? Hurry outside," the Queen's voice snapped her awake.
"Khaleesi, I saw so much wind in your eyes. You're practicing wind witchcraft, right?" Jiqi asked curiously as she put on a fur coat.
The cyan color faded from Daenerys's eyes. She stared steadily as the maid's plump body was wrapped in fur.
"Jiqi, perhaps in a few years, you might also be able to light a glass candle."
"Why? I tried before, but I couldn't light it," Jiqi said in confusion.
"Even the milkmen of Qarth would grow dark if they stood under the sun every day. If you remain near the high-energy magical radiation emanating from me for long enough, beneficial mutations will appear," Daenerys said.
She was a genuine demigod and had comprehended several laws. Wherever she went, the surrounding elements naturally became more active.
A pig born in the immortal realm would not be an ordinary creature even if it never cultivated.
Earlier, Jiqi had glimpsed the winds of an entire world through her eyes, and her spirit had even unconsciously entered that realm. That was not something an ordinary mortal could achieve, nor an opportunity a normal person could encounter.
"Captain Grolai, today's storm is much weaker than the previous ones. There's no need to call for the Queen, right?"
Holding a lantern, Jiqi walked against the wind and snow to the bridge. Within moments, snowflakes clung to her black hair, and the sharp wind cut painfully across her plump cheeks.
Grolai had a rope tied around his waist as he stood on the deck steering the ship.
He turned his head and shouted toward the centaur maid, "The Aemon and the Clinton have disappeared. We don't know if they've lost their way or fallen behind. If possible, please ask the Queen to disperse the storm and light the sun."
Moments later, the cloaked Dragon Queen arrived at the bridge. With a single leap, she plunged into the raging darkness of the storm.
She was like a wind spirit, merging with the wind and controlling the surrounding gales. There was not the slightest flame on her body. Relying solely on the power of the wind itself, she rose rapidly upward.
Flying to a height of a thousand meters above the sea, Daenerys spread her arms and lifted her head, her long legs pressed straight together.
She was like a human radar, receiving countless streams of information within the wind.
Relying on that information, a four-dimensional map of atmospheric circulation gradually formed in her mind. Three dimensions represented the material form, and the fourth dimension represented the distribution of wind-element energy.
"Buzz~~~." A cyan light flickered in her eyes as her consciousness connected to the Wind of One Realm.
In the next instant, an additional spiral of wind appeared within the boundless space.
At that moment, the storm troubling the Slave Bay fishing fleet was recorded within the Wind of One Realm like a specimen.
This was the process by which the Gate God collected various types of wind.
Dany was fulfilling the promise she had made to the Gate God that day: from now on, I will collect "interesting" winds for you.
While recording the wind in reality, Dany was also searching within the Wind of One Realm for similar winds. Through comparison, she learned how to expend the least amount of divine wind power so that the storm over the sea would no longer trouble the fleet.
Gradually, the cyan glow in her eyes spread across her entire body. The storm within a hundred-mile radius began to change under her guidance.
In the sky, the raging wind continued to howl, but over the ocean where the ships sailed, the storm changed from a menopausal wife who had discovered her husband taking out loans to send expensive virtual gifts to an internet celebrity into a shy girl who had unexpectedly encountered the boy she secretly admired.
"Caw, caw, caw~~~." Three great crows flew out from Dany's eyes and transformed into three small suns clustered together.
In an instant, the darkness retreated even before the waves did. A faint brightness spread across the sky, as if dawn had arrived early.
The Aemon and the Clinton, which had lost their direction, received guidance and quickly rejoined the fleet.
This was the reason Dany had come to the Sea of Sorrows.
After the Long Night descended, the sky had grown dim and storms had become unpredictable, making deep-sea fishing extremely dangerous.
Before Dany arrived, the fishing fleet only dared to operate near Free Maiden Island. Whenever a storm appeared, they would immediately head toward the docks of New York Town.
Ever since she had destroyed the Cold God's tornado at Winterfell last time, Dany had gradually grown fond of the feeling of controlling the natural wind. At moments like this, she truly felt that she was the Wind Goddess.
Accompanying the fleet while they fished not only helped the ships avoid natural disasters but also served as an excellent form of training.
Dany had now begun to touch the edge of the domain of wind.
Amid cheers of "Long live the Queen," Dany lightly descended onto the bridge. She waved to the sailors on deck before returning to the cabin.
The head fisherman, Suarez, watched with reverence as the Dragon Queen disappeared from sight and quietly said to the second mate, Kuhl, "Don't you think the Queen is even more powerful than a god?"
"I have seen priests of the Red God perform blood sacrifices of living people to summon favorable winds when ships entered the doldrums," Kuhl replied.
Like Grolay, he was an old sailor who had traveled across the seas. He had seen much of the world and knew many legends related to the gods.
"Then by your logic, the Queen is on the same level as those red-robed priests? But when have you ever seen one of them fly?" Suarez said with some dissatisfaction.
"Obviously the red-robed priests are inferior to Her Majesty the Queen," Kuhl shook his head and explained. "What I mean is that changing the wind's direction does not seem particularly difficult for a mage."
Nearby, "Goat" Gisela overheard their conversation and sneered. "Kuhl, knowing only half the truth is more frightening than ignorance."
"What did I say that was wrong?" the second mate asked, frowning.
"Have you ever seen a red-robed priest summon favorable winds repeatedly?" Goat Gisela asked.
"One favorable wind is enough to carry a ship to its destination. Why summon a second one?"
The wildling spear-wife paused for a moment and said, "Let me put it another way. Have you ever seen a red-robed priest who suffered a shipwreck?"
"No," Kuhl said, shaking his head.
The wildling spear-wife looked somewhat troubled.
After thinking for a moment, she sighed. "The Horned King once said that sorcery is like a sword without a hilt. It cannot truly be controlled.
Red-robed priests only use blood sacrifice magic in the most desperate situations.
Everything in the world follows its own laws. One of those laws is that every borrowing must be repaid.
If you borrow a favorable wind now, the next voyage will inevitably encounter a devastating storm.
But the Queen changes the weather every few days without any side effects at all. That is an unimaginable miracle. I dare say even R'hllor himself could not do it."
Kuhl was half convinced and asked, "Who is the Horned King?"
"A king beyond the Wall from several thousand years ago," the spear-wife replied.
"A wildling king." Kuhl's lips curled into a faintly contemptuous smile.
Gisela said calmly, "You look down on the wildling king? Then do you know who forged the horn that could bring down the Wall?
The Horned King, like Joramun, was a top-tier sorcerer. He broke through the Wall using magic alone."
Seeing the confused expressions around her, the skinchanger shook her head and sighed. "Sigh. None of you have been to the Wall. You do not understand the significance of what he accomplished."
"Ah! There is someone in the sea. It is a red-robed priest! Bearing nine o'clock, about three kilometers away. The red-robed priest's ship was destroyed in the storm. Broken wood and bodies are drifting over."
Suddenly, young Jimmy on the lookout platform blew his whistle and shouted excitedly.
"A red-robed priest?" Suarez said in astonishment.
Goat Gisela also looked puzzled. The coincidence was too great.
"Lower a small boat and go check it out," Grolay ordered loudly.
