It was close to eleven when Ichin finally drove into the villa complex where the Sawamura family lived.
The villa they were here to see belonged to a company CEO. He hadn't owned it for very long—just a little over half a year. Originally, he had no intention of selling it, but his company had recently run into some operational difficulties. On top of that, his wife had fallen seriously ill, and after various medical expenses, his cash flow had run into problems. With no other choice, he decided to sell this villa—one they hadn't even moved into yet.
By coincidence, Sawamura Sayuri knew the man personally. When she found out that Ichin was also looking to buy a villa, she contacted him directly.
After entering the villa complex and arriving in front of the Sawamura residence, Ichin met Sayuri and Eriri. As for Mr. Spencer, being a diplomat, he was still very busy. Although he wanted to stay, he had two meetings scheduled for the day.
After exchanging greetings, Sayuri led everyone to the villa.
Utaha walked beside Eriri and looked at her as she yawned repeatedly. "You just woke up?"
Eriri nodded. "Yeah, about half an hour ago. I stayed up way too late last night playing Apex with Ruri and Kirino."
"Wow—then it's impressive you even managed to get up," Utaha said.
Rolling her eyes, Eriri lowered her voice. "My mom dragged me out of bed. I was sleeping so well, and then she just yanked the blanket right off me."
Eriri's deeply aggrieved expression made Utaha very happy.
Before long, the group arrived at the target villa and met its owner, a middle-aged man in his forties.
After introductions, they began touring the house.
The interior hadn't been heavily renovated—just some basic finishing. No furniture had been bought yet, and the overall style was minimalist, meaning there was no need to tear everything down and redo it.
Three stories, a generous floor area, a spacious living room on the first floor, and a very nice backyard. Overall, its style was easily the best among the three villas they had seen—naturally, it was also the most expensive.
It wasn't just the property prices in Chiyoda Ward itself; the "invisible value" brought by the residents in the area also kept prices in this villa complex high.
After looking around inside and out, Ichin turned to Utaha. "What do you think?"
Utaha nodded. "It's really nice, but the price is a bit high."
"I think it's still within an acceptable range," Ichin said, then looked at Sawamura Sayuri.
Sayuri smiled. "Don't worry, Utaha. There's absolutely no trickery in the price. He's a friend of mine."
The villa's owner also smiled and nodded. "I bought this house at this price to begin with. I can even knock off a bit of the remainder. If it weren't for the outstanding bank loans and my cash flow really being tight, I wouldn't want to sell it at all."
Hearing that, Utaha looked at Ichin. "You decide, Ichin."
After all, Ichin was the one paying for the villa. Even though the two of them no longer distinguished between 'yours' and 'mine,' Utaha didn't want to interfere too much. As long as Ichin felt it was right, she was fine with buying it.
Ichin, just like when he went shopping for clothes, didn't hesitate at all. Without overthinking it, he nodded. "Alright. I'll take this villa. Let's sign the contract."
The man finally let out a sigh of relief and immediately called his lawyer, asking him to bring the contract over right away.
After learning about Ichin's financial standing, he had been fairly confident that he could sell the villa—but he hadn't expected Ichin to be this decisive.
Ten minutes later, the lawyer arrived. Ichin skimmed through the contract, signed it electronically, and prepared to transfer the payment in the afternoon.
The villa had been chosen in just half a day. Next came renovations and furniture shopping. Fortunately, there weren't many areas inside that needed wall reconstruction or repainting. They could have Haruno's renovation team handle it, and the place would definitely be ready to move into before summer.
Leaving what could now be considered their own villa, Ichin and the others headed to the Sawamura residence. The villa's former owner came along as well, and everyone had lunch together at the Sawamura home.
After lunch and a cup of tea, Ichin went to the bank to transfer the money, then completed a series of procedures with the former owner, officially finalizing the property transfer.
Even though it was Saturday, many things could still be handled without issue—there was no need to worry about it being a rest day.
After saying goodbye to the former owner, who was heading to the hospital to visit his wife, Ichin looked at Eriri, who was standing next to Utaha. "So, how about it? Want to come over to our place this afternoon? Ko and the others are all at home today."
"Yes!"
Eriri immediately raised her hand. Even if Ichin hadn't suggested it, she'd planned on going anyway—that was why she hadn't left after lunch.
"In that case, let's head back," Ichin said. As he spoke, he patted his wallet. "Sigh… looks like I'll need to work hard to make money again."
Utaha laughed and poked Ichin's cheek. "How much do you have left? Will this affect the company's operations?"
"Not at all. I keep the company's operating funds completely separate," Ichin said with a grin. "I'm just saying it. Buying a house won't affect our lives that much. Worst case, you can just keep me, Utaha—you're a little rich lady yourself."
Utaha smiled, eyes narrowing happily. "That's not a bad proposal."
Watching the two of them interact, Eriri couldn't help rubbing her arms, feeling goosebumps rise.
She'd played plenty of gal games, read all kinds of manga, and even drawn plenty of doujinshi herself—but seeing this kind of thing in real life was still a bit hard to handle.
She really didn't like the feeling of being force-fed dog food.
After getting home, Ichin informed his parents about buying the villa.
They didn't interfere with the decision at all. Ichin's career in Tokyo was still on an upward trajectory, and arranging a better residence there was indeed necessary.
What they didn't tell him, however, was that they were also arranging a new home for Ichin and Utaha back in Shanghai.
Now that the marriage registration was done, Ichin and Utaha needed a place of their own when they returned. Since it was in the same residential complex, meeting up would still be easy.
Of course, all of that would only be revealed once Ichin went back in the summer.
On Monday, after spending the entire morning busy at the company and having lunch, Ichin left Utaha at the office and drove to the station.
Yukino was coming back today.
And since she wasn't taking the family car but returning alone by train, Ichin naturally went to pick her up.
