[Ovelia's POV]
Thinking about the Thaumamorphs—about them consuming the flesh of the Blazing Tribe—made something hot and sharp rise in my chest. The image of the burning village flashed behind my eyes. The laughter of the masked men. The bodies.
"I—" I started.
"Don't tell them about the Blazing tribe." Lady Firera's voice cut through my thoughts, clear and firm, stopping the words before they could form. "Not yet. Not now."
I stopped, the words dying in my throat. But I couldn't lie to them. I didn't want to lie to them.
"Anyone here would be angry like Ovelia," Ace said, his voice steady, his silver eyes locked on the Alpha King. "Many people died because of those damn dark mana stones and the Thaumamorphs."
"Is that so, Ovelia?" The Alpha King's voice was gentler now. He smiled at me—a curve of his lips that was meant to be reassuring.
