It was already nightfall. The three moons hovered in the sky above us as Darla, Finlan, and I walked back. I was heading for the keep beyond the walls, but before I could make my way toward the gate, I was yanked by the hood of my cape. Apparently, Finlan had something to tell me.
"I know the party just ended, but I want to show you something before you head back," he said, his voice taking on a serious tone.
"This late? It's already gotten dark. Is it that important? Couldn't it just wait till tomorrow? I'm not leaving that early, you know."
At that, he smiled wryly.
"Actually, it has to be now. It's not exactly something that can wait till tomorrow, but I promise it won't take long."
I sighed, deciding that I'd hear him out. Considering how he spoke, it was probably something important, although I still had some doubts.
"Alright, I'll go along with you, but what is it?"
"It's... my little brother. Just like you, today was his 10th bloomday."
