Chapter 210 - Enemies

Dreams are a process in which the dreamer engages in battles that can lead them straight to hell. This time, Dante was fighting with Middle Eastern mafias, who were just as brutal as his enemies in Europe.

But there was one thing that set them apart: Dante didn't know them as well as he would have liked.

"Zz… We're approaching one of the positions leaked by logistics."

In a convoy of four pickup trucks, with Dante riding in the middle one, seated in the back, he muttered, "The Triad…"

"If the intel is correct, we'll eliminate them, and with that, a large portion of the drug access coming from their location to here," said Crocodile, who wore a special black suit, though underneath it he had a bulletproof vest with a dozen magazines strapped to it.

Dante wasn't entirely sure. While he was dealing with his personal enemies, part of his team was working on finding the daughter of the Chinese ambassador.

The solution to the CIA's request was actually simple: erase any connection between them and this case, and eliminate those involved.

"The CIA wants such a clean job that we'll be killing our enemies along the way." That was the conclusion Dante had come to while deciding what to do.

And now, they were heading to eliminate those involved in the murder of his father-in-law, which took a small burden off his shoulders so he could keep working.

"Why is there so few people?" Eddie, who was in the truck with Dante, noticed something strange—something that stood out to him as a local.

"What is it?" Dante turned to look at Eddie and calmly waited for his answer.

"I don't see many people around. Not as many as there should be." Eddie pointed out the lack of people in the area.

Dante looked at the driver, who immediately picked up the radio:

"Zz… Stop the convoy."

"Zz… What's the situation?"

"Zz… We're expecting an ambush."

Boom!

At that moment, the lead truck, which had stopped a bit too late, hit a landmine and flipped to the side of the road.

"Zz… We're under attack!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The ones who reacted first to the sudden wave of gunfire were the trucks at the rear. They quickly moved and took cover to return fire.

Dante, just as calm as before, looked around to assess their surroundings. Upon noticing that they were on a street connected to several residential buildings on the outskirts of the city, he grabbed an earpiece and, once connected to the others, said, "Let the drones locate the enemies."

"We should get you out of here!" Eddie was surprised by Dante's initiative despite being caught in the middle of an ambush.

"My soldiers are hungry, Eddie. You in or not?" Dante looked at Eddie, waiting for his response.

"Ah, screw it. Alright, let's go," Eddie said with a sigh.

"Zz… Enemies located."

"Good. We'll move forward. Let the reserve team handle rescuing our teammates trapped in that truck." Dante stepped out first. Thanks to the drone guidance, he was able to take proper cover beneath the heavy rain of bullets.

"They're three hundred meters out!" Eddie looked toward the building where the shots were coming from and confirmed the information once again.

Bang!

Dante, who was at the front—not like a crime boss but rather like any other soldier—advanced toward the building opposite the one where the gunfire was coming from.

"Zz… Don't stop."

Dante moved forward, unfazed by the bursts of gunfire whizzing past him.

He quickly reached the building, glanced at the reception area, and ordered, "The cameras. Shut them down."

"Right away, boss."

Then, with a group of armed men, he climbed to a reasonable height to get a good vantage point.

Dante had already familiarized himself with the place after just one glance around. It had been a good decision to face the enemy from that position.

Besides memorizing the terrain and layout, Dante used his experience to devise a plan to handle anything that might come up in these urban conflicts.

Like the sniper ahead—one no one had noticed, but Dante had.

The sniper hadn't realized Dante was approaching.

The advantage of a sniper was the ability to kill from a distance while remaining hard to detect or capture.

If a sniper was skilled and well-acquainted with the terrain, he could eliminate an entire squad of armed soldiers from afar.

However, this sniper didn't have the terrain advantage that Dante had.

Dante was monitoring the sniper's every move.

What could a sniper do if the element of surprise was taken away?

Dante stayed in the shadows, holding his improvised rifle. He aimed at the sniper from a hundred meters away.

His vast experience with firearms gave him the best possible technique and allowed him to do easily what others couldn't.

Dante controlled his breathing and steadied his hands, carefully aiming through the scope.

Finally, he pulled the trigger.

Bang!

One shot fired—but Dante didn't stop. He didn't even go check the body. He held the [M12] in his arms, rolled to the side, quickly moving to another part of the building and heading toward his next target.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

As Dante moved away, the machine gunner on top of a truck opened fire on the position where the enemy had just been.

The thick wall Dante had leaned against only moments before was obliterated in an instant.

Luckily, Dante was already gone.
