Chapter 1037 - Chapter 1037 The Sound

The debris floating in the air was gradually sorted and placed by Law, leaving only thirty-nine silver metal objects of unknown nature.

Ken.

A glow of Aura lit up in the eyes of everyone in the team as they all used Ken to observe the metal objects Law had deliberately left suspended in the air.

They saw a faint vitality, equivalent to Aura, on the silver metal objects that resembled olives or bullets.

"What are these?"

The shared doubt among everyone present.

Since the silver metal objects carried Aura, they were clearly not ordinary.

Law stared intently at the silver metal objects, his mind conjuring the image of the brass-colored seed found on Demon Island.

Their sizes were similar, and both had surface patterns. However, the seed from Demon Island had rougher patterns, while these silver metal objects had strict, aesthetically pleasing surface patterns.

To put it simply, the fundamental difference between the two was the gap between ancient and modern, both in appearance and craftsmanship.

But undoubtedly, both items came from the Dark Continent, and their time in existence was absolutely long, if not longer.

They were both... ancient artifacts.

"Ging, remember that seed we found on Demon Island?"

"I remember. Why? Do you think that seed is related to these things?"

"Yes. Although there's no basis, I vaguely feel that way."

"Is that so... I remember that seed absorbed flesh, blood, and Aura."

"Right."

"Where did you put the seed?"

"It's always been in Kuro's space."

Law and Ging's conversation left the others confused.

Except for Kuro, no one else knew about the Demon Island's seed, so they couldn't understand the conversation.

That seed was found by Law and Ging in the ruins of the Serbo people on Demon Island. Because the White Smoke Font didn't provide any relevant information, and the seed had the ability to absorb flesh, blood, and Aura, Law had left it in Kuro's space without touching it.

If he hadn't seen the silver metal objects here, which were quite similar to the Demon Island's seed, Law might have completely forgotten about the seed in Kuro's space.

Of course, Law vaguely felt these silver metal objects were the same type of thing as the Demon Island's seed. But this was just his feeling, without any basis.

Law suddenly looked at Sheila.

Before seeing these silver metal objects, he had almost forgotten about the Demon Island's seed. Now, making the connection, he thought of Sheila's appraisal ability.

Both the silver metal objects before him and the Demon Island's seed stored in Kuro's space could be appraised by Sheila's Nen Beast, Ai-chan.

Noticing Law's gaze, Sheila perked up and nodded at him.

She was now familiar with her role within the team. So when Law looked over, she knew what he wanted her to do.

That was... to use her ability to appraise the silver metal objects with exquisite patterns.

"All of you, stay here and don't move."

Law withdrew his gaze from Sheila, turning it to the silver metal objects suspended in the air, while taking a step forward.

"Be careful."

Machi and Biscuit warned almost simultaneously.

"Hmm."

Law acknowledged, walking some distance away.

"Ten meters, that's about right."

Law stopped, then manipulated his Domain to telekinetically bring one of the silver metal objects over.

It was like dismantling a suspected bomb package… every action had to be cautious.

Even though Law's current strength was formidable, the Dark Continent was never short of strange objects that could instantly kill the strong.

Perhaps these silver metal objects before him were exactly that kind of strange object, so Law had to be extremely careful and vigilant.

Controlling one silver metal object, he slowly moved it towards his palm.

Moments later, the silver metal object arrived in front of Law's palm, the distance between them only a few dozen centimeters.

At this point, Law placed the other thirty-eight silver metal objects on the ground, then retracted his territory, concentrating it on the one before his palm.

The solidified wave-like Domain was Law's shield against any unknown damage. It slowly enveloped the silver metal object, compressing it continuously until it condensed into a layer of light film covering the silver metal object.

"Sheila, come over."

The silver metal object hovered above Law's palm.

"Coming."

Sheila understood and quickly walked over, then summoned her Nen Beast, Ai-chan.

Law looked at Ai-chan and asked, "Will wrapping my Aura around this thing affect Ai-chan's appraisal?"

"No, it won't," Sheila shook her head, saying with certainty. "It will just take longer to appraise because Ai-chan will appraise your Aura along with it."

"Longer is fine, as long as it doesn't affect the appraisal result." Law manipulated the silver metal object, placing it into Ai-chan's mouth.

Instantly, the bead on Ai-chan's tail lit up with a red light, entering the appraisal process.

Law glanced at the red light on Ai-chan's tail, then looked at Kuro and commanded, "Go check out the situation near the containers."

"Understood."

Kuro transformed into a wisp of black smoke, slowly drifting towards the containers holding the Brion-parasitized bodies and embryos.

"Sheila and Little Nana, you two go assist Salin-nee in deciphering the ancient script."

"Uvogin and Nobunaga, you two guard outside the door."

"Ging, be ready to provide support at any time."

"The rest of you, guard near Salin-nee and the others. Be prepared for any accidents."

Law issued several instructions in succession, then brought the desks, chairs, and papers with ancient script to Salin.

Salin sat down without a word, spreading all the papers Law brought over on the table.

Inherently, no matter how good the paper quality, it would decay over time.

However, the papers found in the room were intact, not exactly brand new, but with no damage.

In contrast, among the cleared debris pile, there were many fragments of paper.

Because they were too fragmented, Law couldn't reassemble them.

The smoke-form Kuro reached the numerous containers, continuously winding around them in smoke form.

"Are these things still alive?"

Kuro wondered, extending tendrils of smoke that wandered over the transparent glass. The Brion-parasitized bodies inside the containers showed no reaction, let alone the lifeless embryos.

After circling the containers several times, Kuro flew towards the equipment and instruments.

The screens arranged in a three-by-three grid only showed an occasional flicker of white static. The sporadic white light, like a muscle twitch, shone on Kuro.

The control panel below the screens was quite empty, without many buttons.

Calling it a control panel was more like calling it a desk.

Regardless, these things didn't look like ancient products.

But they couldn't possibly be modern products either.

Because in the history of human voyages to the Dark Continent, they hadn't even crossed the threshold of entering the ancient labyrinth city, let alone establishing research laboratories inside city buildings.

After circling the containers and equipment up close, Kuro rose into the air, smoke forming two hands as he gestured to Law near the entrance: Nothing found for now.

On Law's side, through Nique's ability to share Kuro's vision, he closely observed the Brions and embryos inside the containers, as well as the buttons on the control panel.

"They don't look like modern equipment… they have more of a last-century style," Ging pinched his chin, very interested.

Law's eyes showed contemplation. "The buttons on the control panel are simple, but there are many patterns."

"Hmm."

Just then, a series of rapid, muffled sounds came from the ceiling.

Except for Salin, who was focused on deciphering the ancient script, everyone else couldn't help but look up at the ceiling.
