Chapter 977 - Chapter 977 Glass Fragment

Everyone present was well aware of the Dark Continent's ecosystem.

Back in the day, one of the factors that prevented Netero from even crossing the threshold was the numerous colossal creatures.

It was no exaggeration to say that, in the face of those creatures, humans were akin to microorganisms.

Killing one of these creatures single-handedly?

Even in his prime, Netero never entertained such a thought or notion.

Because that was already beyond the scope of individual combat power as understood.

Every person inside the turtle shell room was a Nen User. Even disregarding the underwater environment, they couldn't imagine any method to take down such a behemoth.

Now, watching Law kill the sea creature spared them the need for imagination and left them utterly astonished.

This scene was like an ant instantly killing an elephant, filled with incredibility.

The continuously thickening staff forcefully widened the sea creature's head… a method of absolute violence.

Blood erupted like rivers from the creature's chin, mouth, cheeks, and even eyes, instantly forming a mottled, dense web of wounds.

In moments, the creature emitted a final despairing cry before slowly falling silent.

Its massive body descended towards the seabed amidst a dense cloud of blood.

Even though they were in a soundproof environment, everyone seemed to hear the creature's desperate, shrill cry.

Imagine a needle being driven into a head, then that needle thickening inside the head, forcibly widening it.

"He really... killed it!" Shiro stared, dumbfounded.

"The boss is the boss… amazing!" Buhara was so excited he kept throwing punches, completely unaware that a lot of drool was flowing from his mouth. He was already imagining what the sea creature meat tasted like.

Nique happened to be standing below Buhara. He let the sticky drool fall on his head without any reaction, just staring blankly at the creature's carcass.

Machi and the others quietly breathed a sigh of relief. They had been very worried initially, but now it seemed Law would be fine.

"He's really reliable, Law..."

Ging scratched his head, still not letting his guard down, his attention firmly locked on Law.

Underwater, Law returned the Nyoi-Bo to its original size and held it in his hand.

Kuro, in his clothing form, looked at the descending carcass and exclaimed, "I can't believe you thought of that method, but it must have consumed a lot of Nen, right?"

"Yeah, I can probably use it about five more times at most."

Law suddenly looked around and saw three sea creatures heading their way. His expression changed immediately.

Kuro also noticed the creatures coming straight for them and urged, "Move quickly!"

"I know."

Law immediately used Nen to propel himself upward.

He guessed it was the scent of blood attracting these three creatures.

Sure enough, the three creatures didn't even glance at them, passing right by and heading straight for the carcass falling toward the seabed.

Moments later, the three creatures were seen pouncing on the carcass, tearing into it frantically, like wolves that hadn't eaten for a month.

The diversion of the three creatures drastically reduced the pressure on the turtle.

However, given the turtle's combat power, as long as it managed its neck properly and avoided direct attacks, it could essentially hold its ground with its hard shell.

Law and Kuro hovered in one spot, looking down at the three creatures feasting on the carcass.

"They look like they've been starving for a long time… kind of pitiful," Kuro said sympathetically.

"The ecosystems of the deep sea and the sky are both strange. There doesn't seem to be a clear hierarchical food chain," Law remarked calmly.

"Why think so much? Hurry up and sneak attack them while you can."

Law nodded slightly and headed toward the three feeding creatures. As for the turtle, with the pressure reduced, it had already gained the initiative. Taking down the remaining creatures was just a matter of time.

Following the same method, Law, from the perspective of an 'ant', quietly landed on one of the creature's heads, then inserted the Nyoi-Bo into the creature's skin layer.

"Lengthen."

The staff penetrated deep. Due to its minute size, it still didn't elicit any reaction from the creature.

Law gripped the staff tightly with his right hand, smiled slightly, and continued infusing Nen.

Suddenly, the staff, now extremely long and deep inside the creature's body, began visibly thickening.

Within a few seconds, the creature beneath his feet reacted, stopping its feeding and beginning to shake its head, emitting low growls.

Fifteen seconds later, this creature met the same fate as the first. Its head was forcefully widened by the staff until it died.

The two creatures nearby didn't understand what was happening and were happy to see more food, continuing to devour the carcass.

Law became more and more proficient at using the Nyoi-Bo to kill the creatures. Soon, he had finished off the remaining two.

Inside the shell room, everyone watched as Law effortlessly killed four sea creatures, not knowing what to say.

Their own minuscule size prevented them from even considering killing such giants, but Law precisely utilized this point to eliminate the creatures without risk.

Thinking about it carefully, if not for being in the sea, it probably wouldn't be easy for Law to reach the heads of these giants, would it?

But no matter how they thought about it, they were certain that in the whole world, probably only Law could do something like this.

Law had killed four creatures, while the turtle still had three left to deal with.

"Probably don't need to help him anymore."

Law then headed toward the four carcasses lying on the seabed. He took out a stone knife carved from Vein Stone from Kuro's space and began cutting the creature meat.

The quality of this meat was definitely A-grade or higher, a rare ingredient.

Although he no longer needed high-grade ingredients himself, the vital energy contained in the creature meat was very beneficial for Nen Users.

So, if everyone in the team ate some every day, their Potential Aura should gradually increase.

"Not sure if the blood scent will attract new creatures."

Law cut the meat while glancing at the nearby ruins.

The carcasses had fallen very close to the ruins… fortunately, they hadn't smashed directly into them.

"Huh? What's that?"

While cutting meat, Law suddenly noticed a fragment resembling glass at the edge of the ruins. From a distance, it looked quite thick.

Law's curiosity was piqued, but he restrained himself and continued cutting meat.

Exploring the ruins wasn't urgent, and collecting the beneficial creature meat for Machi and the others was the primary task.

The only worry was that the creatures had lost a lot of blood. He didn't know if it would attract magical beasts stronger than the turtle. That would be troublesome.

Law stopped overthinking and focused on cutting meat.

He cut piece after piece, tossing them into Kuro's space.

By the time the turtle had dealt with all the creatures attracted by the blood, leaving only one alive, Law had already cut several thousand pounds of meat.

Thinking it was about enough, Law and Kuro returned to the shell room.

Everyone looked at the returning Law as if he were a monster. They had all personally witnessed him kill four sea creatures. Bruna had even taken several photos.

Law seemed accustomed to such looks. With a calm expression, he had Kuro start taking out the creature meat and transferring it to Knov's Hide-and-Seek.

During the transfer, if not for someone holding Buhara back tightly, he would have likely started eating the meat raw.

After most of the meat was transferred, Law looked at the ruins outside and said, "Earlier, I saw a fragment resembling glass at the edge of the ruin structure. It's probably over two meters thick."

"Although I'm not sure if more creatures will come later, I want to go take a look inside the ruins."

If this were before the creature attack, they wouldn't have believed Law could go to the ruins.

But now, they only wondered if Law could take a few more people along.

After all, experience of walking in the deep sea wasn't something everyone could have.
