I held my breath when Edward kept quiet for a few seconds. For a second I thought he would say no. Maybe I had read the intensity of the night completely wrong, but there was no way a man could make love to you like that, just with the excuse that he wanted to 'get to know each other'. He couldn't dress me up and make me feel so damn perfect only to reject me.
My heart would be broken and I knew it would bruise my ego more than anything if Edward did that.
"Daddy you're quiet," I pressed a kiss to the underside of his jaw, "if it's because I hurt you in the past then I'm so sorry but I hope now that you've met Hamish and Denny, you understand why I had to do what I had too. I just needed to find me and love me before I came back to you. Please understand."
