Ebizo hesitated, then answered, "According to the intelligence gathered by our spies, Konoha
has shown no intention of sending Usagi Xin to the battlefield. In fact, it seems they're trying to protect him. He's already been appointed as one of the village's guiding Jonin, responsible for training the new recruits."
"Damn it!!"
The Third Kazekage slammed his fist down on the table.
That brat had humiliated him once, and he wasn't the type to forget such slights easily.
Back in the Hidden Rain Village, the Sand Village had suffered numerous setbacks at Xin's hands. His nickname, the "Silver-Haired Demon," struck fear into many of the Sand shinobi.
Tensions reached a boiling point when Chiyo sent her troops to ambush Xin's team, only for them to be wiped out by two summoned beasts. The Kazekage hadn't seen that coming at all.
Ever since, the Kazekage had been hoping Xin would show up on the battlefield so he could finally kill him.
Other people might fear giant summons, but he didn't. After all, he had once subdued Shukaku, the One-Tail.
If even a Tailed Beast couldn't escape his Magnetic Release, what chance did a summoning beast have?
Giant snake? Huge fox? It didn't matter-in the face of his abilities, they were nothing.
"If Usagi Xin sets foot on the battlefield, notify me immediately."
"Understood."
Back at the Konoha camp, Orochimaru and Nara Shikashige were busy discussing both defense and offensive strategies.
Sakumo Hatake, the overall commander, sat nearby, eyes half-closed in contemplation.
This kind of planning wasn't his forte, and he had no intention of interfering.
Unlike Danzo, Sakumo wasn't obsessed with glory or increasing his reputation.
All that mattered to him was winning the war. Everything else was secondary. Much like Sakumo, Jiraiya was content to let Orochimaru handle things, enjoying the chance to relax for once.
Sometimes, it's best to leave the job to the experts.
So, he decided not to get involved.
"Orochimaru-sama, this is an urgent message from the village," A member of the intelligence unit suddenly rushed into the command tent, handing over a sealed scroll to Orochimaru.
Everyone in the tent turned their attention to the scroll in Orochimaru's hand.
Without any hesitation, Orochimaru broke the seal and unrolled the scroll in front of everyone.
Nara Hideitsu and Sakumo Hatake didn't try to peek, choosing instead to wait patiently. They knew that if it wasn't confidential, Orochimaru would tell them. If it was classified, it wasn't their place to pry.
Some people knew their boundaries; others, not so much.
Jiraiya, on the other hand, stretched his neck, trying to sneak a look.
Orochimaru shot him a cold glare before laying the scroll flat on the table.
