Cass would be the first to admit he had underestimated Gideon. That was on him.
He should have realised somewhere in his mind that Gideon had been able to keep pace with Lucian, but Cass had been blinded by the fact that he was a human in comparison to the fact that they were all freaks. Gideon was a freak in his own way.
He was a home grown freak.
