They also couldn't dive fast enough to physically pull him out of the way, either. The discharge sequence of the massive spell was making an spatial jump impossible and falling there was agonizingly, fundamentally slower than the jaws snapping shut around him.
They were going to watch him die.
But then, saving the entire strategy by a fraction of a millisecond, Ren's wind exploded upward.
It was absolutely, undeniably clutch.
