The rain feels heavy; a storm is brewing. In a quiet room where only the sound of raindrops could be heard, a lone figure moved as if doing something. Wrapped tightly in his, he sat in a chair. The cool, breezy wind came into him like a hug from the open window in his dark and lonely room.
A WebNovel writer writing in the dark, cool and lonely room using the keyboard of his old-looking computer. Only one person reads his novel, and he stays dedicated to writing for that sole reader: Shizo Masusuke, a 28-year-old man dreaming of being a great writer who goes down in history.
Amid his writing, his phone suddenly rings, and he pauses to answer; a woman's voice, who seems to be in her 50s, comes through. His mother called to invite him to dinner at a certain place. Still, Masarukeke declined because he wanted to keep writing, since the deadline for a new chapter of his novel was tomorrow.
"What do you think you're doing?" his mother asked worriedly in a smooth tone. "Sigh," his mother sighed. "You must take it easy. A change of scenery might help you complete your novel. Let's take a break and meet up in a restaurant to cool your mind"
"This will only take a little time, right?" Masuruke asked.
"It will, it will only take a little time, I promise."his mother responded in a tone that seemed like she was joking, highlighting the word "little" by saying it long.
'This mother of mine, there's no helping it; it's not like I can decline her either.' talking to himself in his imagination
'Even if I could decline her, she would just come in my apartment and just scold me for not cleaning this room.' thinking that declining her invitation could make it feel worse. Masusuke thought that if he's mother came, it would just feel like a gun sound connected to a speaker at max volume, directed at him.
"Okay, okay, I will come. I'm just going to change"
He put his phone down on the table and saved his novel on his computer so he could resume writing later. Masusuke then quickly stood up, and suddenly he felt dizzy, his hands on the wall to keep himself from falling.
"I must be low in iron", Masusuke thinks 'well, there's no surprise to it; I only eat cup noodles this month and am always facing the laptop all day without exercising'
Masusuke regained his clear vision after the dizziness and started toward a door. He opened a door, and in that room there was a dark room; he turned on the light, and the first thing he saw was his underwear in the sink. Masusuke then headed to the sink to wash his face and brush his teeth. While brushing, Masusuke came to think that it was unusual for his mother to invite him to dinner.' Better stop thinking about it and get it done quickly.' Clearing his mind, he started gargling and headed back to his room to change.
Masusuke's room is so messy you can see his dirty clothes everywhere, and his underwear hanging near the window, moving back and forth because of the wind.
Masusuke then quickly opens his drawer and changes into clothes that seem like normal clothes everyone wears only at home. Shorts and a T-shirt with even holes in it, featuring a design of a loli anime girl.
'It's just dinner; what's the point of going all out to meet his mother for a meal?' he thought while walking to the door of his apartment.
