This was the second time Lu Jun had heard entirely new terms originating from the Summoning Plane.
The first time had been during the World College Tournament. Back then, among the battlefield treasures of that year's treasure hunt competition was the evolutionary aura of the World Tree. The benefits from that gift still aided him to this very day.
The graceful figure of the Manjusaka Queen swayed lightly as her crimson lips parted.
After becoming a Monarch-level existence, she too had excavated certain hidden powers within the Nation Graveyard of Beasts. Thanks to the unique nature of the Higan Flower itself, she had inherited the title of [Higan].
That's right, even the Manjusaka Queen was not necessarily called Higan by default.
The same applied to the Night Thunder Dream Beast. Only after advancing into the Monarch level and awakening its Yellow Springs bloodline did it learn of its ancestor's legacy. Even then, it was not a complete Yellow Springs.
After all, the four titles, Yellow Springs, Wangchuan, Sanzu, and Higan were merely titles.
The four great beings of the Dream Beast ancestor's era who had received those titles bore absolutely no resemblance between their races and those names.
Perhaps only the very first four mysterious demon creatures truly belonged to the races known as Yellow Springs, Wangchuan, Sanzu, and Higan.
Because of the powerful legends of the first generation within the Demon Mound, those titles had been passed down through the ages, with each generation selecting the four strongest beings within the Demon Mound to inherit them.
However, the past had already become drifting smoke and fleeting clouds.
Like the Inca Empire, all great things eventually vanished into history.
The Manjusaka Queen inherited the title because her race shared the same lineage as the first-generation Higan Flower race, while the Night Thunder Dream Beast awakened the bloodline of its ancestor and, through its connection to one of the many generations of Yellow Springs, also possessed hope of continuing the title.
Lu Jun pondered aloud,
"Yellow Springs? Demon Mound? Nation Graveyard of Beasts? Could there be some connection between them?"
At this moment, his imagination ran wild.
The names of the two regions were similar, and their internal inheritances seemed to originate from the same source. It was difficult not to suspect some deeper relationship.
However, he soon shook his head.
Based on the bloodline descriptions of the Dream Beast and the Queen, the Demon Mound existed on a much higher level. The Nation Graveyard of Beasts clearly lacked that same grandeur and prestige.
Perhaps it was merely a fragment left behind after the original Demon Mound collapsed.
Lu Jun found the matter extremely fascinating.
The secrets of the Summoning Plane were endless.
No one knew the origins of places such as the Thousand Clan Spirit Tower, Dragon Valley, or the Nation Graveyard of Beasts.
Yet now, he had vaguely begun tracing the source of the Beast Graveyard itself.
The races known as Yellow Springs and Higan likely possessed extremely high bloodlines.
At present, Lu Jun's combat strength had already nearly entered the Sub-Emperor realm. Furthermore, he still had two unfilled contract slots, and his standards had become incredibly demanding.
Even Monarch-level bloodline demon creatures no longer interested him much, as they offered too little improvement to his strength.
What he desired were supreme races possessing Emperor-level bloodlines.
Unfortunately, such beings did not exist in the Magic World itself. Monarch-level bloodlines were already the limit there. Elemental Holy Spirits and sub-dragons dominated entire eras, while most Emperors were ruthless wild beasts that had evolved through countless life-and-death battles.
Thus, Lu Jun turned his attention toward the vast Summoning Plane.
With its countless complex races, there should certainly exist Emperor-level demon species capable of meeting his requirements.
The Black Dragon Emperor was a perfect example.
It was known as the final True Dragon of the Magic World, yet the Holy City could still summon a Holy Dragon of Light from Dragon Valley. That alone proved the point.
Curious, Lu Jun questioned the "local demon" Manjusaka Queen.
He wanted a demon creature similar to the Holy Spirit Dream Beast, one capable of powerful combat while also assisting him, possessing abilities such as blessings, seals, and large-scale control techniques, all while carrying an Emperor-level bloodline.
Unexpectedly, the Queen actually had an answer.
Not only did such a species exist, it was even located within the Nation Graveyard of Beasts.
Lu Jun was astonished.
He had never expected such an absurdly demanding race to truly exist.
After questioning the Queen carefully, he learned that it was a plant-type demon creature and even a "distant relative" of the Higan Flower.
It was called a distant relative because both races shared the same ancestor.
Their progenitor was a supreme demon creature known as the [Ancestor of Good and Evil Flowers].
According to legend, it was the source of all flower demons in existence. Every flower-type demon creature in the world was its descendant.
In terms of status, it stood equal to the [World Ruler Tree], progenitor of all wood races.
The Good and Evil Flower lineage eventually split into two major branches, Good and Evil.
The distinction was obvious just from the names.
The dominant lineage of the Evil branch was Higan.
The dominant lineage of the Good branch was Naihe.
Of course, after the endless changes of the Summoning Plane through countless ages, pureblood Higan Flowers and Naihe Flowers had already disappeared.
Their descendants became known respectively as Manjusaka and the [Holy Ti Flower].
The demon creature that fulfilled Lu Jun's requirements for a high-level contract was precisely the Holy Ti Flower.
"It seems I really need to personally visit the Summoning Plane."
Lu Jun pondered deeply before waving his hand, sending both the Manjusaka Queen and the Night Thunder Dream Beast back to the Summoning Plane.
The Dream Beast remained within the region of the Nation Graveyard of Beasts and planned to travel toward the territory where the Manjusaka Queen resided. Once there, it would serve as an anchor point for Lu Jun to truly cross into the Summoning Plane.
As for how he planned to go there, Lu Jun already had his own methods.
The first was his Fusion Magic system—combining the Summoning and Space elements together to perform a reverse summon.
The second method was the dimensional treasure, the [Triangular Dimensional Mirror].
Just as the mirror's special Summoning Element ability could forcibly elevate a contracted beast by one level of strength, its Space Element ability allowed the host to teleport through anchored spatial coordinates, even crossing into entirely different worlds.
After learning this, Lu Jun began developing thoughts about traversing into the Summoning Plane.
Perhaps Leng Jue had used this exact ability of the Triangular Dimensional Mirror to summon the Underworld God Khufu from the underworld of the Dark Plane.
Moreover, after both his dimensional magic systems advanced into the Super Tier and he refined over half of the Triangular Dimensional Mirror, he uncovered an astonishing secret.
The being who created the Triangular Dimensional Mirror was the founder of the Summoning, Space, and Chaos Elements!
Every founder of a magic element had once been an unrivaled genius who dominated an entire era.
The dimensional magic systems in particular possessed incredibly ancient origins. Even the Ancient King from two thousand years ago was not the creator of the Chaos Element, he was merely a Forbidden Curse mage of the Chaos Element.
One could only imagine how ancient and terrifying the true founder must have been.
"That makes sense. Who else but such an existence could create a supreme treasure like the Triangular Dimensional Mirror, capable of forcibly elevating spiritual power into the Eleventh Realm?"
Lu Jun sighed emotionally.
The original story had never mentioned this point, yet judging from the developmental history of the various magic systems, even elemental magic systems such as the Light and Lightning Elements appeared later than dimensional magic. (Original reference: Edison)
The earliest magic was dimensional magic.
Next came part of the elemental systems.
After that emerged the White Magic systems during the era of Athena and Medusa.
The latest of all was Dark Magic, which only established its status a few hundred years ago during the war against the Holy City.
Lu Jun even began suspecting that dimensional magic did not originate from this world at all, but instead came from another world entirely.
The special abilities revealed while refining the Space Element side of the Triangular Dimensional Mirror already leaked fragments of evidence supporting that theory.
In addition, every time he cast the beginner, intermediate, advanced, or super-tier spells of the Summoning Element, he would glimpse that moon-white gate.
He had previously harbored suspicions about it, and now those suspicions were confirmed.
That moon-white Summoning Gate belonged to the same era of construction as the Triangular Dimensional Mirror itself.
The moon-white Gate of Summoning had been placed within the Summoning Plane, bringing Summoning Magic into the Magic World.
Lu Jun pondered for a while, organizing all the information he had gathered.
The origins of the Summoning Plane, the formation of the Nation Graveyard of Beasts, and even the deeply connected origins of dimensional magic all of them had finally revealed part of their secrets.
The World Ruler Tree, the Good and Evil Flower lineage, the Nation Beasts all these mysterious existences were endlessly fascinating.
"Sigh when will I finally be able to summon an Emperor-level creature?"
"By all logic, Eleventh Realm spiritual power should already be sufficient. Even if it cannot fully summon an Emperor, it should at least allow a portion of an Emperor's power to descend, rather than only summoning Supreme Monarch."
"Could it be that my Summoning Element cultivation is still too low?"
Thinking this, Lu Jun recalled the scene of releasing the Ancient Magic Gate during battle.
No matter how much he thought about it, he still could not understand.
In the end, he could only return and continue researching it slowly later on.
