Danilo
I tried to recite my speech from the top of my head as I paced the length of the window that had a view of the beach. Under normal circumstances I would have been completely fine, I gave speeches all the time, most times I didn't have to practice but seeing the pain in Dove's eyes this morning had me unbalanced.
It wasn't the plan to come so early yet Pa just had to insist that I fly with him this morning and I couldn't say no. What excuse would be good enough to why I was limiting my time around Dove so much? Absolutely none and that was how I was seated opposite him this morning.
The Dominican sun made Dove's skin tan beautifully, the sun brightening his dark hair by just a tinge and clearly a great diet had made him gain more weight. His cheeks were not as hollow as the first time I had met him. He was glowing which surprised me. I just figured he would be more miserable and I wasn't ready to face him knowing I was the reason behind it.
