The cry for help didnt feel human. The more they listened more disturbing it sounded.
One of the girls named serene asked Theo about it. But since he didnt know aqua responded
"Its giant insects mimicking human voice.."
Serene looked at aqua with an irritated look. Aqua saw this and turned around to face Theo.
"Theo.. Tell them that those without powers stay here"
Theo nods knowing that the girls hate him.
Theo goes over to them and tells them.
Aqua then says with a determined look.
"Theo, valt and ace will go to bank junction.. The orb should be near the Dominic church. And I will have Abu.. Everyone else with powers, protect the ones without.. And Do not.. By any means go out.. "
"Where are you going?"
"I have to meet someone"
"Who?"
Aqua doesn't answer, instead he smiles.
"Gotta find my buddy"
All of them look confused but no one questions it. Theo walks up and puts one hand on aqua's shoulder and says "All our lives are depending on you.."
Aqua smiles and gentles taps him on the shoulder.
"Come on, Its gonna be one hell of a night"
The monster outside seemed to have left. Aqua gestured with his head for them to leave. Aqua opened the backdoor quietly and peeked out to see if there were any monsters outside. He sneakily walked out with his back against the building wall. Before Theo, Ace and the others left, the girls asked if they will be alright. Theo looked at them, torn between telling them truth or comforting them.
"If we are not back by dawn.. Then leave this place and find a way out" Ace speaks up
The girls hesitate at the reply. Some even wanting to help Theo and Ace. Theo firmly said no to this and walked out of the door before looking back with a smile on his face. Ace does the same, and the others behind him. The other students all wave them off traced with concern all over their face.
Meanwhile, aqua listened to the interaction from outside.
Soon Aqua sneakily walked beside broken stores, Theo and the others followed him. "Where are we going..? This isn't the way to the church.." Theo whispered to aqua. Aqua suddenly runs to the side of a clothing store and hides behind the wall. Theo and the others follow him. Soon a giant centipede
runs in from on top of a store and stops in the middle of the road before crying for help like a human. The centipede then crawls towards them while mimicking. The others get scared.
Shh... Aqua said.
HeL.P.... M..E..... ITs... HurTing.. A..ahhh-
Theo asked aqua if he can kill it But when he tried to use his powers it only flickered.
The giant centipead crawled towards them. It sniffed the air and crawled even closer. Aqua looked around for something, until his eyes landed on a bottle of kerosene. Aqua quickly took it and first poured it on Valt, Theo, Ace and Abu, and only then did he pour the remaining on his head. They stayed quiet, the centipead sniffed all of them and even licked Aqua's face. The Theo and the others contained their laugh until the centipead crawled away.
"Bastard" aqua said infuriated and disgusted
The others could barely contain their laugh.
Aqua looked around and ran quietly towards the police station, Theo and the others followed. Once they made it in, Theo was shocked at the gruesome sight and valt almost puked because of the smell. There were many officers dead, most eaten and some with only limbs left. aqua didnt mind any of it and quickly looked in the dead bodies of the officers. He specifically took out three walkie talkies and gave two to Theo.
"Here, take these and call me when you are in trouble only. It could mean life or death."
"Aqua.... How are you so... Unfazed by this..." Theo asked, still shocked at the sight
"Im not a guy who is shocked that there are dead people here in a place full of giant centipeads and bug who can mimic humans, i came here knowing that i would see this." Aqua said looking at the corpse
Aqua brushes past Theo and Valt to get outside. Theo's gaze lingered on Aqua. Aqua found a police car with a dead person inside it. He breaks the window with a rock. Abu comes to assist aqua. Abu picked up the dead man and sat him on the wall of the buildind and did a small prayer. Aqua looked inside and saw that it is functional. Aqua walled upto valt.
Valt.. You know your powers right..?
Y-yes?
" For now, only Valt can use powers. But once we get the first orb it we should get it back." Aqua said.
