Mary, in the elven city:
Suzan, Charlotte, and I were sitting together in the elven palace, sipping tea.
"You seem happier today, Mary." Charlotte said, with a knowing smile.
"Fine." I replied, lightly exasperated. "You were right, Charlotte. It seems obvious now. I do not know why I doubted you."
Charlotte took a sip of tea, her smile deepening in satisfaction.
I almost hate to admit it, but I am quite happy today. I learned magic – something I could only dream of until now. And I am relieved of my deepest concerns.
First, I worried that King Titus would have little interest in protecting the Oswald Kingdom from threats. Or worse, that he might become cruel. But he dutifully thwarted the Mason Kingdom's invasion. He did so personally and without delay. If you ask me, that alone is worth all the gold our kingdom has given him and more.
King Titus has proven himself both capable and benevolent, putting my worries to rest.
I… I love him.
