Bang!
As soon as Nami finished speaking, the billionaire elder from Baroque Works appeared in front of her, slashing down with his longsword.
Nami remained calm, blocking the attack with her staff and using a sweeping motion to push him back.
Nojiko, though physically enhanced, had no combat experience and could only stay behind Nami for protection.
Fortunately, her mind control ability was different from direct manipulation. She influenced her opponents' thoughts from within, leaving their combat skills intact.
"Kill them!"
The dozen men behind the billionaire elder split into two groups—one surrounded Nami, while the other charged at Nojiko.
Under Nojiko's control, two of the enemy officers turned on their comrades, their blades dancing furiously as they held off the rest of the minions—at least for a while.
Though Nami was initially at a disadvantage, the intense battle began to draw out the latent power of the hundred-year spiritual essence within her. She grew stronger as the fight went on.
"How... how is this possible?"
The billionaire elder facing Nami was the first to notice. At first, the woman before him had been forced to retreat under his attacks.
But now, their weapons clashed evenly.
Nami, who had been at sea since she was seven or eight, had far more combat experience than Nojiko. She was slowly gaining the upper hand.
Swoosh!
The billionaire elder barely dodged as Nami's staff narrowly missed his head.
The close call sent a chill down his spine.
If not for his battle-honed instincts, that strike would have pierced his skull.
Nami's staff swept horizontally, and with a sharp crack, one of the minions behind her screamed as he was sent flying off the deck and into the water.
Nami calmly retracted her staff, adopting a defensive stance.
"Do you want to keep going?"
She was now in control, but the enemy still outnumbered her. If the fight dragged on, she'd be overwhelmed.
"What a joke! You think you can walk away after killing my men? Today, I'll make sure you pay!"
The billionaire elder snarled, his blade slashing at Nami with renewed ferocity.
"She's just holding a stick! What are you afraid of? Attack!"
At his command, the minions hesitated, then charged at Nami with wild expressions.
If Nami had been wielding a sword, it might have intimidated them. But a staff, unless used skillfully, didn't carry the same threat as a sharp blade.
Crack!
One of the minions screamed as Nami broke his wrist with a precise strike.
But before he could cry out, the others shoved him aside, their swords swinging at Nami from all directions. The billionaire elder joined the assault.
They were using their own men as bait to force Nami into a vulnerable position.
Nami, now surrounded, was in grave danger. Dodging multiple attacks, she suffered two more cuts.
After taking a hit, Nami kicked one attacker in the chest, then knocked him out with a swift strike of her staff. She stepped back, catching her breath.
"That mind-controlling woman isn't a threat. Leave two men to deal with the controlled ones. The rest of you, focus on her!"
The billionaire elder glanced at Nojiko, his strategy clear.
He hadn't joined the earlier assault on Nami because he'd felt a strange pressure, as if someone was whispering in his mind.
But his will was strong, and Nojiko's influence hadn't taken root. He assumed it was her ability at work.
As long as she couldn't control him, it didn't matter who she manipulated.
"Brothers, together—"
Before he could finish, an overwhelming pressure descended, as if the world itself were collapsing. Everyone dropped to their knees, unable to resist.
Nami stared in shock at the kneeling pirates.
One moment, they'd been ready to kill her. The next, they were on the ground, trembling.
She turned to Nojiko, who stood at the cabin door, a faint smile on her face. Nami realized what had happened.
Looking toward Alabasta, she saw a massive turtle approaching.
Though Allen's Conqueror's Haki wasn't strong enough to affect an Admiral from this distance, suppressing these small fry from over ten kilometers away was no problem.
The turtle drew alongside the ship. Allen stepped off, flanked by Robin and Vivi, who followed a step behind.
As Allen walked past the kneeling pirates, Nami felt a wave of relief.
"Allen, you're finally back..."
Tears welled up in her eyes as she felt his presence.
"Nami, you're hurt! Come on, let's get you bandaged."
Seeing the blood on her, Allen's expression softened. He led her into the cabin, with Nojiko close behind.
As for the kneeling pirates outside, no one gave them a second thought once Allen returned.
Hiss...
Nami winced as Robin applied medicine to her wounds. Allen held her close, his voice gentle.
"Does it hurt?"
"It hurts!"
Women were like that. Without a man around, they could endure anything. But with someone to lean on, even the smallest injury seemed unbearable.
Nami's tears flowed freely, her vulnerability tugging at Allen's heart. He looked up at Robin.
"Be careful. Don't press too hard."
"Understood."
Robin sighed inwardly, easing her touch.
Vivi watched from the side, her eyes wide with disbelief.
The man who now sat on the bed, cradling the orange-haired woman with such tenderness, was the same devil she'd seen earlier?
"What do you think? Allen might seem fierce, but he's actually very gentle."
Nojiko stood beside Vivi. Though she didn't know who this blue-haired beauty was, if Allen had brought her back, she was likely a new companion.
"Y-yes..."
Vivi forced a smile, nodding awkwardly.
Gentle? That's for you...
When she'd left the Alabasta palace, there had been two piles of ice crystals on the ground...
